My first Italian Pizza
Yesterday I fell asleep before I could write my blog. Still a buit jet lagged but slowly adjusting. I've realised now that ive got to stop thinking like a princess and start thinking like a contiki tourist, cold showers and all. Yesterday Nakita told me the what I thought was a urinal in our bathroom was actually a butt cleaner (bidet). Thought I'd pass on that European experience 😊. We had some breaky in the hotel then thought we would go and visit the pantheon (we are going to see it at the end of contiki but thought we could have a sneak peak). We took our maps and started walking. We definitely looked like lost tourists at multiple parts of the journey. We didnt make it to the pantheon but we almost made it to the colosseum. We walked up the street which leads to the colosseum but got distracted by all the shops. Ended up buying a pair of shorts which I needed and bought my first pizza in an Italian restaurant. The buildings there were amazing but Because we had no tour guide we didn't actually know what they were but hopefully we will know them by the end of contiki. When we decided to go home we were too tired to walk the 5.5kms we had to do to get back to the hotel so we decided to catch the train back as we had seen a station near our hotel. It took us a good hour to find the station from where we were (flamino i think) and almost got on the wrong one. We made it home in just a few minutes compared to our almost 1hr hot walk. Today we plan to take the train to get some gelatos before we meet up with the contiki group 😊
