Big drive from Citta Della Pieve down past Rome and Naples to Ticciano near Sorrento...very much a very local place not touristic at all....not in the same class as Podere Baiocco ....but we do have water views and a lovely Italian family looking after us. 6 bedroom 5 bathrooms and there are 8 of us so all good. First day presented us with a bottle of wine, salami, cheese, bread and snacks...so lovely! Our bathroom wasn't to our standard and they came into bleach etc whilst we were out at Pompeii and then when we got home came in with the hugest cake and a bottle of Limoncello and a lovely note apologising..very gorgeous Italian family! The beaches are a little rocky but the Adriatic Sea is warm and a crystal clear shade of blue that you just can't find in the US. Alex, Jim and I agreed that a full day on the beach, in lounge chairs, with cocktail service seemed ... read more
