Heading out to dinner shortly. Maybe time for a quick note. Spent the day out in the Ring of Kerry on the Iveragh Peninsula at Derrynane National Historical Park and Derrynane Beach near Caherdaniel, an hour's drive from Kenmare. It’s the family home of one of the most prominent statesmen in Irish history, Daniel O’Connell. Beautiful family home, grounds, forested walkways, and access to one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen. One of the sweet features of the forest was a Fairy Walk, a maze of trails full of tiny fairy homes. Took quite a few pictures to show the grandkids; here are a few. No chance of an umbrella today as far too windy so quite obvious that it was going to rain. It started at 6 am, I know this because when you sleep in a motorhome you hear every drop on the roof. We left the Blarney campsite at 10 am and it rained all day, all the time, hard and relentlessly until 7pm when we did get a few minutes of respite. Today was a scenic drive day. Ha ha. Nothing scenic about a view you can’t see for the raindrops on the windscreen, waves of rain lashing across the road and clouds so low you drive through them.
