Tourist trap, the only way I can do justice to describe the Guiness Storehouse, maybe if you had a huge interest in Guiness or something and the process of making it it would be good, but otherwise this would be something I would skip, even though it is an Irish Instution. You do receive a complimentary pint of Guiness, which is great if you can stomach the stuff, personally YUCK! Cant stand it hehe, the view however from the 7th floor is FANTASTIC, You can a 360 degree view of the city and its just sensational. Almost worth paying the entrance fee just for that, but does get extremely crowded..
Something that is equally a tourist trap but that I would actually recommend is the Kilmainham Gaol, this is the biggest unused gaol in the UK (or maybe Europe, cant remember). You receive a guided tour of the place and here about all the famous politicial prisoners that were once housed here including many that were involved in the 1916 Easter Rebellion in Dublin which actually began on this day (Easter Monday) 91years ago, so I picked a good day to go! This prison was used for over 200years before
closing in 1924 and housed men, women and children prisoners all in the same prison. It was the first prison in Ireland as well to focus on reform and rehabiliation of prisoners. It was designed by a guy called Bramworth (maybe?) and he belived in the pleasure-pain principle (Uni girls, sound familar? hehe, when I saw it I was like hey! I know what that is! haha), the principle belives that crime is commited to bring pleasure while simultaneously avoiding pain.. Very psychological! Gotta love psych! hehe.. 😉
Photos: My USB gets on a plane in 2 days time, in a 7kg backpack (who the hell does anyone travel that light?!) and it will reach me in just under a month.. Got some really good photos I cant wait to add so looking forward to that!
i had always planned on getting a tattoo when I got home to commenerate this journey.. Have come up with a few ideas, one thats really sticking in my mind so we'll see, if the feeling lasts for another 3/4months then thats what I'll get..haha Sorry Mum!
I have so many different random things on my mind at the moment, my head feels like its going to explode.. Does anyone else get that?? When you worry about the most stupid things that you really shouldnt worry about, just because you've got so many other things on your mind that it just makes everything seem worse.. Thats how I feel at the moment, just wanna scream!! Too many things going through my mind, but I know everything will work out.. it just takes time.. Just feel like I havent found what Im looking for yet.. Although I dont know what that is.. Just myself maybe..
Hope everyone had a lovely Easter! All it meant for my was everything was shut! Glad I have close to 2weeks in Dublin all up cos I lost a lot of time thanks to Easter, I did get some Easter eggs delivered to my hostel (yuck) in Dublin so the Easter bunny didnt forget me! Hopefully there arent too many more public holidays in my future!

Yes but if UR coming from the UK it is a must see really.
I would agree that the long queues can get a bit much so I would advise you get out of bed early. I know what you are thinking a free pint first thing in the morning are you kidding but believe me if you are in high season you will prefer skipping the pint if it means a short queue. The fact and figures been knocked around is that the Guinness Storehouse is the 2nd most visited tourist attraction in Dublin. if oyu are looking for a place to saty while you are over here I would recommend the Ripley Court Hotel http://www.ripleycourt.com. It is good value and puts you in the city centre just off O'Connel Street. If you hop on the Luas (that's a tram by the the way) it will bring you by Guinness is about 15 mins. Enjoy.
