My nasadame do auta a s vyhladom neakeho obchodiku smerujeme do miskolca smer mesto Kazincbarcika. Ideme po starej, miestami rozbitej ceste. V dedinkach ziaden otvoreny obchod, kedze je nedela rano. Obcas zhliadneme neaky ten otvoreny senk. Okolie dost neupravene, hlavne vsade stare domy. Podla navigacie v aute mame ist 1,45 hod, kdezto podla mojej mobilnej sygicovej 1,30 hod, no a google mi to dal na neakych 1,10hod. Hned kupujeme ranajky. Platim forintami i ked sa da ... read more

We began this morning with no real plan(s) for the day. We had some ideas, but nothing set-in-stone. After breakfast at the hostel, we decided to take the local bus to central Miskolc. Locating the bus was a breeze, but trying to pay for two tickets when you only have 1,000.00 bills (roughly $25 USD) in Hungarian currency was problematic. Although the bus driver could not change such bills, he waved us on and let us ride for free. After walking through central Miskolc for 30-45 minutes, we decided to visit a medieval castle that dates to the 9th century. Visiting the Castle of Diosgyor was enjoyable since it is primarily in ruins. We enjoy seeing structures and cultural landscapes of bygone eras much more than pristine palaces. After leaving the castle, we stopped for a ... read more

Hallo an alle!

We are back with Leslie on the road....and this is the big news. Flight from Rio to Madrid, than from Madrid to Frankfurt where I met my parents who brought us Leslie. We rent a car, and directly on for 11 hours drive to the North of Hungary. Ma'ri has a big family...to simply make it short, her parents have more than 40 grandchildren. So every year, they have a big family reunion. My first one was last year. it can looks quite impressive at first look, but what is really impressive is the love of this big family, one that you do not meet often. Sadly for us, this year the family reunion will also be without Tiffany, not our choice, just a reality. We spent three days in the countryside, few kilometers away from ... read more

Also i think i,ve developed a slight hunch.. I have to like psych myself up to mount the monstrocity on my back, and then attempting the steep steps and narrow corridors on the train is a joke.. You cant turn either and swing the bag off i end up just standing leaning back and dropping it.. Also my sleeping bag, wellies and tent attached to the outside of it so its actually wider than me.. Anyway i had a nice breakfast this morning and washed it down with a cold Becks.. Got ... read more
