Thursday continued
We had a peaceful evening sat outside, 20°C, a lovely balmy evening again.
Pat cooked some pasta and mince beef with a basquaise sauce. Grapes and biscuits for dessert.

The plan for today, is to drive in a loop from here westwards, popping to the supermarket first, the road will take us initially inland, then round the coast to see the pampelonne beach where all the celebrities hang out at the private beaches, then up to St Tropez and back to the apartment. Swimming costumes packed just in case!
We headed off eventually late morning and made the first stop at the Geant Casino Supermarket, for our lunch and dinner, and other sundry items. Stopped for a coffee and sat outside, in the sunshine for a few minutes, because we could.
Then we started off on our loop to La Croix Valmer, and on the map was a little place called Gigaro, which was slightly off our plan, but headed off in what looked like a pleasant deviation towards one of the headlands.
We came across a beach and decided that this was a pretty decent spot for
our lunch. Which our usual Ham & Cheese with a French stick, some olives and a banana each. We set up on the beach, with our towels, had our lunch, and then stayed where we were for the next four hours!
It was absolutely gorgeous and glorious weather, I cannot believe this is October. This heading South business really works. Pat says I've caught the sun on my head today, other people have been saying something similar for years.
We had arrived at the beach about twelve thirty and left around five. We also had ice creams, because we could.
Because of our change of plans, we decided that we would simply head for St Tropez, to see the boats and maybe a little people watching somewhere.
It was quieter than the day before and we parked by the port again. We ambled into town and I wanted to find the Place de Lices, as we had missed it before. We did come across it this time and watched them playing Petanque and then settled into a bar facing the square - Le Clemenceau - watching the people and traffic go by. A glass of wine and a coke light were not unreasonably priced.
We didn't stop too long, and left for home, arriving back about eight. Pat prepared the ready made Boeuf Bourgingon, we bought from the supermarket, with some rice and haricot vert. It was really nice and all we had to do was zap it. We have a cooler in the car, for those worried about the temperature of the food in the car all day. Olives and biscuits for dessert.
Having been in the sun, for a lot of the day, we both had that feeling that we had done more than we had, so another early night.

The plan for today is to complete the part of the loop, that we didn't complete today.
