Geo: 43.4028, 3.69278 This morning we left Barcelona and headed back to France to Sete, which is one of France's biggest fishing ports. On the way we called in to the town of Figueres in Spain to visit Teatro Museo, a museum created by Salvadore Dali for his own works. Teatro Museo is Spain's second most visited tourist attraction, and we had to line up for around half an hour to gain entry to the museum. Dali was born in 1904 in Figueres in the Catalonia region of Spain and died in 1989. He used both classical and modernist techniques, sometimes in separate works, and sometimes combined. Exhibitions of his works in Barcelona attracted much attention along with mixtures of praise and puzzled debate from critics. Some of his surrealist works make you wonder what he ... read more

After the long and quick drive from Cadiz, it was nice to unpack everything, have a chance to self-cater when we wanted to, and catch up with friends in this familiar part of southern France. We stayed in the fantastically situated and well set up and restored ancient fishing house on the hillside overlooking the port, which we've rented a few times now from our friends Jean-Jacques and Brigitte. (They live in Geneva. If anyone is interested in more details about the holiday house I can send you a link to its website once I am home.) Our friend Luce from Marseille, with whom we have stayed twice now, came to visit and stayed with us for 2 days. HI darlings, Well the first few days have gone with a whizz, PLaces we have visited so far have been; Day 1. We were at sea all day sailing to GENOA in Italy. Day 2: Change of plan we had to dock at Rapallo in Italy, then whilst there we had a smaller boat trip to Portofino that was brill. I got some amazing photos of some bigs yaughts. Then we went further along coast to St Margarita Day 3: Now onto Livorno to go on a trip to see PISA. That was cool but VERYyyy busy. Everyone was taking the photos whilst holding " it up Ha ha.
