Very quiet night on the site ("Camping Bel-Air!") but we were surprised to find in the morning that there WERE perfectly good gravel pitches. The owner had put us on a muddy one, then told us to park on the drive next to it because the ground was damp! Didn't fill up the water tank in the morning, because the only functional water tap was directly over the chemical loo point (and used for rinsing cassettes!) Short hop today. Still, stopped for a few bits from a supermarket, and to fill up the diesel, then found a working Aire to fill up the water tank. Arrived in the afternoon at our friends John and Scarlette,where we had a delicious roast lamb dinner, and Elizabeth fell in love with one of their cats! 3802km, so 84 today. ... read more

We really enjoyed a quiet day today. After breakfast we joined the easy walking tour as we went to a small villages Of Bourg. Unfortunately it was closed and seemed to us like a wasted stop. We then had a stop and visit of what this town is well known for a Unisec world heritage site a Citadel. The fortification was commissioned in the 17th century by Louis XIV to protect the city of Bordeaux from enemies sailing up the river from the Atlantic Ocean. We returned to the ship and really enjoyed a leisurely afternoon getting caught up on personal items including this blog. We napped, watched a movie as well.
