Arrived Luperon too early, doing an overnight from Provo. There was a group of us, Island Siren, Ariel, Sandial, At Last, Dream Girl, Seneca, etc. The customs was a mess. Depends on who checks you in, day of the week, but they want money, nothing cheap other than living expenses. $85 to check in for our boat. Luperon is definetely a hurricane hole. The water is murky, awful. Good holding. Dread the thought when we pull the anchor, Pete going to spend lot's of time cleaning it. Everything you read about Luperon is true, filthy, friendly people, everyone wants money. 25 miles out, the wind changed unto the nose, and the smell of land was over powering. We arrived predawn, did a few 180, then followed Island Siren in. There were so many sailboats...think Georgetown area
