SO lovely to leave an ice-storm behind, in British Columbia and wake to the wonderful sounds mentioned above! We'd been looking forward to our second trip to Costa Rica for months, 'though my husband was concerned about returning in 'high season', as neither of us is fond of hoardes of tourists ! After a little research, I found the small fishing village of Brasilito & we spent 10 marvellous days there. The simple hotel was in the jungle, right beside the beach, with views of the ocean from the open restaurant. Our room was reminiscent of Colonial days ~ ceiling fan, creaky wood floors & heavy furniture....and we loved it ! Great price, too. Hier soir, je suis allé voir un rodéo avec des taureaux au village. C'est vraiment populaire ici et il y avait beaucoup de monde. Pour voir le rodéo on pouvait être assis dans les estrades, sur la clôture ou carrément être dans l'arène avec les taureaux! C'est un peu fou! Le but du rodéo est de réussir à rester 8 secondes sur le dos du taureau... Tout un défi! Après, quand il débarque le spectacle continu. Le taureau se met à poursuivre les spectateurs qui sont dans l'arène! C'est mon bout préfèré ;). Les toréadors étaient forts! J'ai ADORÉ! ... read more

Salut ! On est a Brasilito pour un mois. Ici il y a un organisme qui offre des activités aux enfants. C'est Casa Brasilito. Il y a des cours d'ordinateur, de surf, d'anglais et de natation. Tout est en espagnol ! C'est un beau défi pour moi! J'ai rencontré des jeunes et je vais souvent au parc jouer avec eux. On joue au basket, au freesbee ou au soccer. Ici, ils sont vraiment bons au soccer. Jouer avec eux me permet de lâcher mon fou et d'apprendre l'espagnol! Pura vida! ... read more

Since leaving the atlantic coast Team Central America has spent 10 days in the capital city of San Jose. We stayed at this quiet, amazing little hostel where the staff are super, and the location was really nice and central. For the first couple of days we explored the cities many sighs including it´s many parks, National Symphony, museums etc... Although central San Jose is becoming more of a big city every day, the downtown area is only a very small part of the entire city itself. While in San Jose, we participated in several spay and neuter clinics in many different areas around the city, mainly in poorer rural ares surrounding central San Jose.
