We are looking forward to meeting with our attorney on Tuesday to finalize the details on our property purchase. The conditions for our option on the property have been met and we are ready to proceed. What that means is the road to our property has been completed to Bill’s satisfaction. It was a very difficult road to travel when we were here in the rainy season and made the repair of the road a condition for our purchase. Bill is happy now. He was on the property to observe the backhoe and rock laying last week. He was very excited to take me there on Friday to see the changes. It was a beautiful clear day on the mountain Friday. The last time I was there it was cloudy and the views were obscured. What ... read more

buenos tardes! i have so much to say in 20minutes, so i´ll do my best to summarize, haha we all know thats NOT my forte! so after a long day on the 23rd we arrived safely in the town of San Jose! We stayed in this´country club´gated community type place. pool, tennis courts, large soccer field, and then these simply (yet beautiful) cabins that they rent out to families to sleep in. i think we were all in enough culture shock flying in, and then driving through San Jose , that this just really just slapped us in the face! The gap between the rich and the poor is incredible.. some people have everything that we have and more, and then some reside under tin roofs and have to walk down the street to get to ... read more

We're almost there..... We close on the house a week from today, January 19, 2006. The date was pushed back from the original closing date of the 10th as the buyer’s agent wasn’t able to get his ducks in a row. The inspections and appraisal have all been completed. Now we wait for the title to record and pick up our check on the 19th. If things go without a hitch we’ll head for LA that afternoon or early the following morning to ship our belongings. From there it’s on to Scott’s in San Diego for a relaxing weekend before leaving the country. The vehicles have both been sold. We’ll deliver mine to the buyer over the weekend & Bill will keep the truck until the day before we leave. The buyer is only a block ... read more

Whooo Hoooo! Hooray! Yippee! Words cannot describe our excitement! I just got off the phone with American Airlines. Bear, our beloved four legged son is set to fly out with us on Jan 23rd to San Jose, Costa Rica. Now life is good & everything is OK! We’ve been on a daily roller coaster ride waiting for word he’d be able to fly. I’ve dealt with several airlines both in reservations and cargo. Until today the word was, Bear was not be able to fly due to an embargo on live animals and remains being allowed into Costa Rica For those who don't know about Bear, he is an 11 year old chow/giant schnauzer mix. He was rescued from a broken home where the human parents separated, each taking ‘their dog’ while leaving puppies to ... read more
