Today’s port is Belize and I had 4 teens sign up for the Club O2 tour. Cave Tubing was again fantastic. Such a great tour. I’m lucky to be able to have gone at all and spoiled completely by getting to do if for a second time. I love the half hour hike through the rainforest. So much to look at. Our guide this time pointed out a lot of the different types of trees and plants which was interesting. The rainforests never cease to amaze me. I love getting to experience them again and again in so many different countries. The actual cave tubing portion of the tour is so wonderfully relaxing. To just lie back on your tube and let the rive carry you through the cave, then beneath the trees of the jungle ... read more

The weather has been heating up over the past few weeks! Feels like 30 - 35 degrees.. but some parts very humid! Cancun was very very busy - we caught the last week of spring break (American´s everywhere) and I have never seen anything like it! The nightlife was crazy... many sore heads most days of our time here! Bascially you pay $40US to get in to most clubs and then its open bar all night and very messy! We spent our days hungover on an island called Isles Mujeres (30 mins by boat from Cancun mainland) which was just as the Caribbean should be.. we didn´t want to leave !! We then crossed the border into Belize and headed to a great little island - Caye Caulker where we spent our time mostly drinking, ... read more

You know your somewhere a little bit different when your told off for walking too fast...."go slow man!!"....as you do!....Caye Caulker is a great little island in the Carribbean jst off the coast from Belize, that basically revolves around diving and eating fresh fish off the bbq....suited us to a tee....there are no cars there and evryone drives about in golf carts or on bicycles. We basically spent our time there chilling out, relaxing, hiring some golf carts to tour the island and eating plenty of sea food which we've taken quite a liking to. Trying to whene ourselves off the old fly ridden yellow chickens over here. We headed out on our 3 rd day there on a snorkelling sailing trip, taking us to three different sites....coral garden, shark and ray alley and cant remember ... read more

One thing that I absolutely love about Galen is the emphasis they place on taking fieldtrips. In the past weeks I have taken many, but the one I am about to describe is stand alone. I did not think I would have the privelege to attend, as I am not in the course, though had inquired earlier. My roommates had left earlier for the adventure of a lifetime as far as I was concerned, and I was still lying about mentally preparing for the day (i.e. wishing I was still asleep, but thinking about getting up for breakfast). Imagine my surprise when my friend peers in the window, pops his head in, and shrieks, "ATM, now!" What is this ATM, that could be so exciting you wonder. Here in Cayo, ATM is synonomous with Actun ... read more

I once had a friend that began each story with the heading, " So there I was, Oh Shit..." In any case I feel that that is an appropriate lead to this story, so here it is my beguiled readers: So there I was, oh shit! spending the past 4 day weekend frolicking around Belize following a nationwide canoe race that begins in San Ignacio (where I live) and ends in Belize City. They paddle 180 miles in all. I only paddled about 40 in our proclaimed "trash boat" but still felt like a champion. Although I did feel as though I had pulled a muscle after 2 days in the boat. Unfortunately for me, there was no middle seat in our boat and got stuck either sitting on the floor of the boat amidst all ... read more

Op n bepaald moment ... read more

Toen is KingZ gedurende 5 seconden afgelopen, want daarna onderbrak ze hem al met 'I don't wanna argue with you'. (KingZ: ' ze had gewoon chance dat mijne kop er zo vroeg nog niet naar stond... - ... read more

Thanks to some kind people I managed to get IDs swapped around this week and got off in each of the ports. Didn’t do much in Panama besides get a disappointing lunch and some groceries. I’d hoped to go on tour in Costa Rica, but there weren’t any available. So I shopped in the local shops looking for good clothing deals. Then I went back to the park that I love near the port and sat beside the gazebo that I adore. I love when you travel and you manage to find a place that somehow feels like yours, a special place where you just feel at ease. There is something about that park that feels majestic and something about that gazebo that makes me feel inspired and relaxed and rejuvenated. I read my book and ... read more

I had the great fortune to go horseback riding in Bullet Tree a few weeks ago. Here is a link to some photos of the ridiculousness of this event. http://uvm.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2047015&l=d4fc9&id=6904435... read more
