Kandy We visited the Dalada Maligawa on a Saturday and thought it was hideously crowded, but we didn't start lining up until inside the drummer's courtyard - so a walk in the park compared to your experience of lining up at the gates! I have lots of sympathy :) Hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Kandy...
There can never been to many elephants The area of Pinnawala has quite a few orphanages ranging in prices and what you can do eg. washing them, feeding them etc the most expensive one strangely doesn't let you near the elephants at all!
