Finally made it to another country...just when I was getting sick of baguettes and croissants. Spain is definitely a different world. Its history is pretty interesting. A lot of religious wars (esp. against the Moors), invasions and it's still pretty young as a democratic country. But I guess tourism is thriving here and its economy is growing because of it. I can see why. There's a lot to see and do and it feels different from the other parts of Europe that I saw. It's as if a lot of the culture has remained intact without as much "western" influence. It's hard to explain. I really wish I could've seen more of Spain, especially Madrid and Seville. Maybe next time. Traveled down Las Ramblas, Barcelona's main shopping strip.
