Sunday 25.4.2010 day 193 Our Devon resort After another fantastic English bfast of local produce we book out of the White Hart and drove to our new resort. We arrive a bit early so we did some shopping at the local shopping centre and then had a bit of a drive around the area. We saw a gnome reserve close to where we are staying but did not go in and we drove past the largest honey farm in Britain and I think we will go back as it looks good. Friday 23.4.2010 day 191 Moving hotels again We left our hotel the green man with its 14centary building housing the bar, restaurant and reception and move on to our new hotel for the next two nights. Before leaving we sent more emails trying to get info for our insurance company on the accommodation that we lost in Canada as they still have not got back to us. We also email BA again about the duty of care for us that they have not been providing and then sent a complaint email to the regularity authority about them not meeting their requirements under EU law. Wednesday 21.4.2010 day 189 Sorting out our lives after the Europe airspace closer Today we rebook our hotel here for tonight and tomorrow night. We booked a week of accommodation in a resort with a kitchen so we can cook our own food from Sunday the 25th to the Sunday the 2nd of May. We still have to sort out accommodation for Friday and Saturday this week and Monday to Wednesday the week after next. We tried to call our accommodation booked in Canada and could not get though so we sent them another email. We still have not had a reply for an email sent 2 days ago. Monday 19.4.2010 day 187 Volcanoed in the UK still Well we were due to fly out of the UK tomorrow at 3:30 but at about 3:30 today they cancelled our flight even though they are saying that they may start flying out at 5:00 tomorrow. So it looks like we have just missed our flight out. We tried to call Qantas who we booked our round the world trip with but I wanted on hold for about 3 hours and there was no answer. I cannot rebook the flights online as they are round the world tickets. I have looked on line with flights we can use our tickets for and there are no seats to our current destination for 2 weeks. Saturday 17.4.2010 day 185 Herford to Harlow We are very happy to be moving again today. 2 weeks is the most that we have stayed in one place for over 6 month and we are getting itchy feet. It was about a 3 ½ hour drive and we only saw a few light airplanes as all flight in and out of the UK and most of Europe are not flying. We are now back in a hotel room without a kitchen so back to fast food for the next few days. ... read more
