Too close for comfort Now that's just a little bit scary. You girls are raising my blood pressure already. Glad to hear everything is alright. I hope you reported this to someone, local authorities or those in charge on the ship. I'm assuming you were pickpocketed, when you say mugged. Oh well, lesson learned, on to Brazil. Take care, stay safe. Love ya, Pops
bug spray Here's my thoughts about the bug spray...
They took it instead of the money or any other valuable stuff because they had a life threatening disease against bugs...yep, that's my theory..what do you think?
bug spray????? Hi Nicki, I'm really sorry to hear your friend got mugged and happy to hear both of you are ok.
Strange they only took bug spray (sure it wasnt Mace -only kidding) with all the other valuables she had with her. Can't they get bug spray there?
Its really a shame a few people have to be and do such stupid things. I'm sure most of the population are very nice etc. Just like N.O. where the looters start robbing stores. I can see food, water clothes and the like but TV, computers and the like. What are they going to do with them. Problaby wont be working by they time they can use them Oh well. Maybe Brazil will be safer. Instead of worry about you so much I just decided to pray harder. Dont use as much energy and get more sleep. Take care honey,
stay safe - and May God continue you watch over you and all on your ship. Love ya Gramdma
venezuela visit. Hi, Happy to hear you are enjoying your visit in Venezuela. Are you sure gas is only .12/gal and that you didnt put the decimal point in the wrong place. I bout gas last Thursday 8/30 for 3.09/gal.Next day it was 3.39/gal/ Dont know what it is today. I hear Venezuela has its problems. Their leader tends to lean toward Fidel Castro's policies. I'm surprised you like the food so much. You are such a fussy eater. Anxious to hear what the food is like. Get some recipes so mom can prepare some dishes for you or better yet you can prepare some meals for us. I dont think your mom ever visited Venezuela but I am pretty sure she visited Brazil. They have a large statue of our Lord overlooking the country.
Yesterday your mom, dad Mark Lynnette Cheryl and Tom came here for a cookout. Thoroughly enjoyed their visits. Today is Labor day and I had to work. Bonnie and clan went shopping for school clothes. Did you get a chance to read any of my cards. I know I put times on them for you to open them. Just heard on the news that they repaired a levee in New Orleans and are starting to pump water out. Thank God.Keep writing. I will try to stay in touch as much as I can. You know me and computers.... You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. And you know I miss you.
Take care, be good and be safe. God Bless You Love Grandma

comment too long He was taken to a bridge where they stayed over night until he was picked up by bus. The stories are amazing. You will certainly experience and record your own incredible stories. May the Lord watch over you and bless you as you visit the world He created. Love, Aunt Nettie
Blessings to you! Hello Nicki, I hope your enjoying every moment of your trip. It must be strange hearing of reports of the hurricane disaster in the South. I just answered a call from one of my past students who was attending college in New Orleans. From Monday to Thursday he was trapped in the college dorm with other students. The National guard finally came with boats anddropped
Wow Ha wow buddy, that sounds awesome. Yeah I can definitely imagine you and Laura sitting there on the deck chillin on the water...too cool. Is the guy from Saskatchewan hot? lol. We Made it home Hi Nicki,
It is already thrilling to read all about your first few days. Dad and I have been, thinking about and wondering how it is all going. It was hard to say goodbye but I left feeling very confident that you are ready and well prepared for this journey. You know that we are in constant prayer for you and Laura and well the staff, crew, Captian faculty etc.. It was fun and exciting to be on the ship and hear all you are going to experience and learn. It was also, great to see you on the ship,in your Cabin, your new home and pray with you and Laura before we left. As sad as I felt leaving you, my excitment for you is far greater. I will look forward to reading your blog, It is a great way to keep in touch. I love you honey. Enjoy yourself, it sounds like you already are. We left the Atlantis,Paradise Island at 9:30am and made it home at 10:30pm due to delays. It was very strange to walk into the house with no-one home not even Heidi... I guess we are going to be adjusting too. Enjoy Venezuela and wish Laura a happy 21st Birthday for us. Hope she likes her birthday gift, the watch! ...Hugs and Blessing, Mom

I'm Jealous Hi- Sounds like you are starting to enjoy this semester at sea. I'm so happy for you but like just about everyone else I wish I were there with you - for the fun - Looking forward to hearing your remarks about your visit to Venezula. Also looking forward to hearing what you mom and dad have to say about the ship, your trip etc. Keep me posted. You are in my thoughts and prayers as always. Oh by the way I talked to Jeff last nite. He sounds like he is adjusting to college life just fine. Sounds like he has a busy schedule to me. Said he has been too busy to be homesick. We'll see. Likes his room mate and someone he knows from South is down the hall from him. I'm sure he will be contacting you soon.
Love ya Grandma
Wow Nicki it sounds awesome! I hope you enjoyed the Atlantis!! It will take a lot of time to get used to everything that you are doing. Take your time. Everything will settle down. Just the amount of choices you have are endless. Where to eat and who to meet. You will get in the swing of things. It will take about to weeks to finally feel settled! Have fun on the first day of class. I will talk to you later.
Love, Jeff

Saying farewell Hi Nicki, Thinking of you and realizing in 24 hours you will be on your way. How are Mom and
Dad holding up? The ocean will probably be a little deeper tomorrow as the tears flow. Just wanted to wish you well, have fun and say adios, au revoir, auf weidersehn, sayonara aloha, to da loo, farewell, tata, farewell and so long. God speed. My prayers are with you and all on the ship.Especially the crew..... May God continue to bless and watch over you. Love you dearly Grandma
Good catch that would have been something, 3 months and no mail...you might have thought no one loves you...just the opposite...you are liked, respected and loved by all...remember, you are the lucky one who will be onboard and seeing the world, but there are alot of us who will be living out this dream with you, as we travel with you to each continent and country in spirit...t-minus 4 days and counting, can you believe it? see you in the bahamas...oh, what the heck, i'll see you tonight at home...love ya!!
Thursday August 25 Hi Nicole, Its only Thursday and I am having troube typing this because of the tears in my eyes. But they are tears of happiness for you. Your trip sounds so exciting. Enjoy every minute of it and learn as much as you can but please be careful. Yes honey its okay for you to leave your room I wont worry any more or any less. As I told you before worrying is what grandmas do. I will be looking forward to your mail and will be anxious to hear all about your trip whey you get home. You will be in my thoughts and prayers everyday. Going to your house will be different.
At least for the next 3 months anyway.
First Heidi is no longer there. Then Jeff is off to college and now you. Have a great trip. May God bless you and continue to watch over you. With all my love Grandma - I am going to miss that smile of yours.
cya later yes, it is cya later, not goodbye..if you remember that it makes it a lot easier..not just for Nicole and I, but for our friends and family. We will see each other again before we know it. Nicole, my advice to you is that nothing will really prepare you to leave your normal life behind: you just do it because you have to. I miss everyone lots and I'm just in Florida, you will miss everyone more than I will because you'll have less contact with people.
Anywho, you're my best friend, you're the coolest, and hopefully we can talk while you're gone as often as possible.
Journal Nicole, I am so glad that you have this travel blog. It will be fun and interesting to hear from you and what you are doing and experiencing. This past year has flown by with all the planning and discussing of this trip and now it's going to be a reality in just a few short days. I know it is going to be an awesome experience and life changing. I can't wait to hear about everything that you do. I know God has a plan and He will use this trip to mold you and prepare you for your future. Absorb it all, and seize the moments because they can never be give back. I love you dearly, Prayer, Blessings and Hugs, Mom
Saying Goodbye Hey Nicki, I know what you mean. Saying goodbye is not easy and never has been for you. So, lets just say until later!
