Biking So what's wrong with hanging around your Uncle too much? I think a motorcycle is a great idea. Plan on taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course in the Spring and you will learn alot of good safety pointers and fun things that you can do on a motorcycle. Maybe you will join me on a trip if you do purchase a bike. I'm glad to hear that you are staying adventurous and taking in all the experience has to offer. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy.
Nicole, it sounds like you are having the time of your life!! You are so wise for someone so young!! God has made soo many beautiful things that so many people take for granted. Trust in Him! You're in my thoughts and prayers. Can't wait to see your pictures!

But one thing I agree with is THANK GOD FOR WHO YOU ARE.Keep messages coming- love hearing from you. Dont feel so separated from you. God bless you, keep safe Love Gram
You should write a book I check my e-mail everyday waiting for your TravelBlog. I get so excited when I see one. You do have the best stories to tell. When you get home you should read these blogs as you show your pictures of the same. I can only envision in my head what you talk about, I can't wait to see it in photos.
Love ya, Sandi (Ms. Lucier)
Wow Wow, you learned a lot in South Africa. I can't believe Nicole Schara just wrote that entry. lol. You sound very grown up! Maybe itz from the sophisticated wine tasting hehehe. I don't even know where to begin to comment on all of that. Hm, what would you say if I told you that you love history? Because you do.
All of your experiences there sound awesome..from being atop Table Mountain to skydiving to BIKING to seeing the mixed wealth in South Africa...how enriching...bring all of that home with you and share it with us. It's crazy when you realize how little people smile and are nice to each other back home isn't it?
Well, email me soon buddy with all the stuff you didn't post. I miss you so much.
I always knew what an adventurer you are! I am so proud of you for seeing the world with your heart in the light of Christ! May God continue the be with you and reveal His world to you for I know he has a plan for you, to prosper and not to harm you a plan to give you hope and a future. Continue seeing with HIS eyes and enjoy the ride! Hope the bruised rib were worth it and that you heal fast. I love you! Hugs, kisses and prayers, Mom
Wow !!!!!!! Motorcycles? You've been hanging around Uncle Bob too much. You are quite the daredevil. Always knew you like living life to the "extreme". Capetown sounds wonderful.I like the fact that you see things from both sides ( the have's and have not's).That's a great quality to carry with you through life. I think we all need to show more contentment with what we have and not worry so much about what we don't have. Hope you have a nice, relaxing time in Mauritius. Study hard and play harder. Call if you get a chance. Love ya, Dad
thanks for the update Hey Nicki! I'm really glad that you've been able to keep us updated. It sounds like you're having a great time and I'm really happy for you! I really want to see pictures whenever you get the chance. :o) Neptune Day sounds like fun, kind of. My friend who studied at the semester at sea program also shaved her head and loved every minute of it so I'm glad you participated! I can't believe that Desmond Tutu is on your ship, how incredible!! Anyways, I hope that everything is going well and that you continue to have a lot of fun! Hope to talk to you soon. ~Courtney
your normal Wow your recent life would make a great sociological study! All your emotions are very predictable. We love excitement and change and yet we need the security of those we love. Your advantage is that the Lord is always with you and He never changes. Keep reading His word and home won't be very far away. Your like Paul on his missionary journeys; though I don't remember reading about him shaving his head. You kept me in suspense and made me laugh.
Joy's shower was great. We missed you. Do you remember her old silver headband. I attached a veil to it and wrapped it for the shower. We always teased her that she would probably wear it for her wedding. She loved it and was seriously thinking of using it.
A second big hurricane hit land. The evacuation was more successful but, 90% of the property was damaged. It hit between Texas and Louisiana. The people in New Orleans still haven't returned home. Some may never come home.
Remain Steadfast!
Love and Prayer, Aunt Nettie
miss ya Hey schbuddy. About the homesick thing...you miss home, but you wouldn't rather be there instead. I miss all of those things from home too, but I'm not homesick...I want to be in Florida having this experience! Just like you want to be on SAS.
Question: What if they don't go somewhere else to replace Kenya? Is that possible? Would you get some of your money back? ????
Uh, you talking about this documentary scares me. You're definitely gonna have to make 2 documentaries: one about your trip and then one about our joint experiences. Because uh...I've only used 4 tapes. And you've used 11....sorry itz just like impossible for me to tape: the camera is too big for this sort of thing: harder than I thought.
Miss you. You're the coolest. Keep updatin those blogs!
Not Surprised! I am not surprised about the hair! But the fish guts that is a surprise! Hey maybe you will decide you like the buzz and keep it for awhile.
You have good perspective! Contine to learn, grow and discovery your self, life and the world!
I love you, Mom
Hey Nicki! Your travel blog has been such a treat and I have not laughed so hard in a long time as when I was reading that the illustrious Desmond Tutu rubbed your fuzzy blonde head. It is amazing the adventure you are having and the true appreciate for home (homesick or not) that is hard to know until you go.
I am pleased to hear that you are not sea sick and do keep struggling along with the Global Class. My guess is that they expect you to memorize too many detailed facts, dates, etc on the testing. That info is stored somewhere any how that you can access any time you need it, so get the drift in class and don't sweat the small stuff. Soak in all you can of these experiences and cultures, as you are making your own bit of history, and I truly value that far much more than what can be found in books for the rest of Global history. It is your blog and a "Her Story" that is a treasure I thank you for sharing with us. We love and pray for you each day. Stay safe and your attitude is right on girlfriend. Much Love, from Aunt Becky
(I'm delighted you're feeling that bald is beautiful - maybe even trendy aboard ship - "Don't forget the Sun Block!!!") Viva la Africa
Skinhead That's my girl...smooth as a baby's butt...you'll have to do it again when you get home, so we can all rub it. Great post,it's like being there with you...you surprise me with your writing skills..looking forward to hearing about S.Africa...Love you dearly...Dad
NICKI!!!!! Hey -- I always look forward to reading your blogs! They are so entertaining and interesting!! I can't believe that you shaved you're head! haha, i cant wait to see pictures! Glad to hear that you are having fun! Dont worry about your global class...I never did well in global either...lol! Well, i have a ton of studying to do, so i'll stop here and leave a message for your next blog!! Luv ya!!
Hi Nicki I signed up for your journal after my mom told me about it. It sounds like you are having a great time on your journey! What has been your favorite part so far? I can't believe you shaved your head! You've got some guts girl!
Buffalo is pretty boring as usual. You aren't missing much here. Remember when we went to LCLC together and how homesick I was and we were only there for 3 days?! (Wow that takes me back) So when you are feeling homesick just think of how much of a wimp I was getting homesick the second day of camp. Live it up and remember that this is a once and a life time trip. Your family, friends and neighbors will always be here for you...and we will await your return to hear all your stories! :) Take care hun! Happy traveling!
-Laura
shaved head I can only laugh and laugh and laugh at the thought of you shaving your head. I wish I could see it. I can picture what it might look like and I especially like picturing Desmond Tutu Rubbing it. I am amazed by your stories and adventures. Please keep writing. You are in my prayers everyday. Love ya, Ms. Lucier
Hike 10 mile hike...ha remember the hike you, Laura and I took at Letchworth? Ha okay, so our hike was nothing compared to yours, but I thought I'd mention it. It's so interesting to hear all that because we have no idea what you're doing day to day. It makes me so excited to see the video footage too! Miss you! I'm writing an email to you tonight by the way. Peace out.
Go Girl! After all those hikes, sounds like a good time to hit the spa on the ship! It will loosen all those muscles. Continue, living, learning and loving!Enjoy the wisdom of Desmond Tutu. Not everyone has the opportunity to meet a The Nobel Peace Prize Winner upclose and personal! Then vist the country he is serving. When your kids are studing about him in school, You will be able to tell your kids you cruised with him. I love you and love living this journey with you! Prayers to you, MOM
Brazil Nicki, I is so much fun receiving your travelblog. I look forward to seeing it every time I go on the computer. Your are a great story teller. I am so thrilled for you and I hope this journey continues to be a blessing to you. God's Speed Sandi
Dear Nicole, Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with me. I look forward to seeing a travelblog in my email and got a little concerned when I hadn't gotten on in a few days. It sounds like you are having the experience of a lifetime and I am so happy for you. I am also getting to know you more intimately thru your email and I must say that I am very impressed with the woman you have become. Your level of maturity far surpasses girls of your age. I am not sure My daughter Robin could express or carry herself as well as you do. Good job Nicole!! Continue to have fun and know you are in our thoughts every day. Love Denise
