Dave and Merry
The people we talk with speak so highly of Scuba diving in the phillipines and it seems you both got to experience some wonderful sealife there already . The Philippines is truly a special place. I hear another trip coming on very soon for you guys.

I love turtles too, they are so peaceful and gorgeous. What a nice experience to see them so close. Reading your blogs has made me want to go to the Philippines, which I never even thought before, so thanks for writing them!

Gorgeous part of the world...
What amazing experiences you guys are having! Aww those turtles are so beautiful. And I loved that Chris joined in with the dancing. :)

Gorgeous part of the world..
Thank you, we really are having the time of our lives. The turtles were amazing and Chris's dancing was not half bad. Think his effort made us far more welcomed by the locals here.

Turtle heaven and rooster hell
How fabulous that you got to swim with so many turtles, and that you had a camera that could capture it. You've definitely found some sweet spots in the Philippines. Pretty funny though that you said your journey was straight-forward--just a boat and three bus rides! Travel times take on a whole new meaning when you're off the beaten track!

Turtle heaven and rooster hell!!
You definitely caught the essence of our experience with that title. I agree long journeys are not too bad when the destination is worth it. I write this having just waited 8 hours for a nightbus at a station, with the 10 hour journey only just begun. So far dare I say it, but its been good. As with the camera its just an average point and shoot camera, but we have a 'dicapac' casing that allows us to use it in water. Not as good as a go pro, but a okay alternative. Thanks once again Tara.

Thank you it really was. We think this place has offered us the best sunsets so far.

Beautiful Sunsets..
Looks like you saw some wonderful sunsets. I had never heard of Sipalay City so I spent some time reading on Tripadvisor, etc. When we just went on vacation from busy work schedules we liked to go to small, out of the way beach resorts. Your "shack" reminded us of many we stayed in. Now that we travel pretty much all the time, we kind of find the beach places a little slow. Nice to visit for a couple of days, though. You guys are really getting to see some off the beaten track places and we enjoy following along. We look forward to more adventures as you go along. Nice pictures, too!

Beautiful Sunsets..
Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it. The sunsets were truly mesmerising, we couldn't stop taking pictures of it, trying to catch all of the colours. We agree, for us beaches are great but if theres not much else to do/explore we get bored quite quickly now. Glad to hear that we intrigued you with this serene place, its worth a visit for a few days to a week to getaway from the main tourist spots of Philippines. Plus the staff were so friendly and made an effort to remember our names which made our stay that little bit more special.

Sunsets and the soul
Sunsets signal the closing of a day and entry to the night. By definition I guess they signal approaching rest. But will the night be restless, refreshing or tranquil? Gotta agree when you get a cracking sunset it lifts the spirits. Wow...so many amazing sunsets...no wonder you had such a good time.

Sunsets and the soul.
It was beautiful here, the sunsets were captivating. For us they signified the sucess of a day/the light at the end of a tunnel, and a new begginning. But like you say it was certainly calming and refreshing for the soul. If only we could experience sunsets like this from home every once in a while.

Sounds perfect!
Oh wow! This place sounds so awesome. I will definitely be messaging you if we go to the Philippines. Seeing dolphins in the wild is certainly an indescribably happy feeling...pods of them swam with us for two hours once - which was really fabulous (but it wrecked our fishing trip because they scared the tuna away) ;)

Sounds Perfect
Oh it was. No problem at all. You two really have travelled and done some amazing things. Lol, sorry to hear about the lack of tuna but i'm sure the pods of dolphins made up for it. Its crazy as we have been on the road for under 4 months and I keep thinking about all the trips we cannot fit in this time. Oz one of them although everyone else says were missing out :(

Paradise Found
We would like to go back to the Philippines. We will add Banaue to our list. We love the water, being near the water, on the water and under the water, Loved your happy dolphin photos. Now you have a great whale tale and rescue story to tell forever.

paradise found
Thanks Dave and Merry. Our experiences will certainly be stories to tell our grandchildren. This place was really special to us and I'm sure if you love water and spending time in the sea then this place won't disappoint for you guys either. Unless it gets found out by mass tourism that is. It will be interesting to hear about your adventures to the Philippines, I'm sure it will bring back many memries for us too, so we will look forward to that, Banaue is a must, Sagada too even if that caving experience is not for you. The town is very beautiful (high up in the mountains) and has a lot more to offer than we had the time for.
