Love Hong Kong I really loved Hong Kong as well. It is a remarkable city and there is so much to see there, far more than I expected before going there. =)
Re: Love Hong Kong Us too. We never knew much else about it and just thought it was just a popular city but there was tons of stuff to see and do there. Its one of those cities that feels alive day and night.
Glad you saw more than the city I'm glad you got to go out to the islands - many people just see the city centre and the shops, not knowing that there is a lot of green with hiking and boats going everywhere!
Glad you saw more than the city Doubt we would have enjoyed our stay as much otherwise. That's a shame for those people as it really was very accessible too. The cost, the time it took. Plus when we got to the islands especially Lamma island it was just so serene and tranquil.
Vegetarian We were so confused initially after seeing that food eatery. Lol maybe thats what they meant, vegitarian animals/meat. Someone else mentioned they do imitation meat. We should have checked it out really but instead we just avoided it :(
I love that skyline... Glad you had the time to go to Lamma Island - I love it when super-built up cities have pockets of nature that can be accessed so easily.
Beautiful skyline Us too. We particularly loved that about Hong kong. It was not your usual green space but a beautiful island that wasn't too built up at all. Like Singapore the balance between nature and construction was exceptional.
I love Singapore too! I guess it has changed a lot since we were there (in 2009) but we loved Singapore as well, mainly for the same reasons as you did: transport, food... I think I specially liked it because after a month in chaotic Indonesia, Singapore felt so clean and tidy that it was a very welcome break.
I love Songapore too! Its lovely to hear you had similar experiences. Like you, although we enjoyed Indonesia and all it had to offer the effeciency and cleaniness of Singapore was such a welcome change. We set our bar too high travelling to Japan first of all. I can imagine that would have been nice midway stop over too.
Beautiful contrast! How incredibly different to the peaceful places in nature where you've been for awhile, but Singapore sounds fantastic with its amazing architecture! And I love those lit-up, colored trees. In the food court where they advertised vegetarian chicken, etc, it may be like here in Peru, where imitation (soy) meat is popular in veggie restaurants, but I don't like it--it seems too much like meat. And that tea making--no way my lazy self would bother with that! Hope you find proper big cups of tea in China!
Beautiful Contrasts Lol I'm happy you agree with the tea portions. Far too much effort :) oh wow never knew there was such a thing I may have to try it next time but I get how strange it may be if the texture of the meat is too similar to real meat. Hope you are stil enjoying all Peru has to offer!!
I echo all of the sentiments here. =) I fell in love with Singapore as well during my visit there in January. When I tell my family and friends about how it is there they all just gape in awe. =)
Ditto Glad you too enjoyed it too. It was just an amazing place. Little did we know though as we only meant to visit it as a layover. It definately deserves more time. I'm sure we'll be back!!!
love this blog Thanks for reading. We really enjoyed our stay across these 3 places. They all had established tourism in one way or another but it was rather tasteful. No huge concrete hotel blocks.. for now :)
Hi we're Chris and P. We have quit our jobs and sold our house to follow our dream of travelling around the world for 12 months!!!
Let’s jump back about 2 years - We're driving to P's friend’s house for an evening meal when she turns and says "I've been thinking..."
And what a thought that was indeed. That thought turned into buying a dilapidated property and spending a total of 2 years 'doing it up' ourselves coupled with a new job and a wedding thrown into the mix for good measure. We even questioned ourselves at times on whether travelling would actually become a reality or be j... full info
