Teaching in China
Just read this with a mixture of fascination and pity at your predicament. This reaction doubtless amplified by our contrasting fortunes here in Shanghai. I then noticed the blog was dated 2005! As you may be aware, Chinese years are like dog years. That is a long time ago! Shame it wasn't recent as I was about to invite you around for a glass of wine and a cheese sandwich;-)

Blog date 2005
Yes, it was a long time ago - with a few adventures since as well! We're planning on returning next year to check how much Guangshui has changed. Certainly all the students we taught are now at uni or working. We do keep in touch with many of them!

Mummy at Gheun
I took the same route to Spiti valley when I did the trip on my bike in 2009 and it was an amazing experience. I totally fell in love with Tabo, Komic and Dhankar monastery. The monastery at Lahlung is also one that I can't forget. I also visited to see the Mummy of a monk in Gheun which is in sitting position. It is close to 600 yrs old with hair still intact. It was an unbelievable experience of my life. Hardly a few websites talk about it but I was lucky enough to travel with IncredibleSpiti team and they especially included this in our itinerary. After this I also met the guy, Anuj Singh ( a photographer by profession and loves to ride), who was the first to photograph it. Wonderful journey and wonderful stories.....cheers

San Jose Museums
I'm glad that you were able to see the Pre-Columbian Gold and Jade Museums as the artifacts are truly incredible! There's also the National Theater in the center of San Jose and the Art Museum a little farther out that are definitely worth the visit especially to experience Costa Rica's latin culture.
