Eek You do realise I'll have to keep jumping for the rest of the holiday, and you'll have to try at least once. Maybe over Niagra. I'll book us in tonight, ok?
Forgot... Forgot to mention not only have we had an earthquake, but a whole host of freak storms, particularly down south. The Midlands has had a taste of it with gale force winds (well maybe not quite but they feel like it!) and rain. Just be glad you're missing out on that!! Lol Samantha xx
Wonderful, this is nothing Few more impressive pictures to follow in a few days. A waterfall twice the size of Niagra being one of many. Niagra better be good. Lots of competition.
Brave or stupid I'd have to go with stupid right now, body been stretched in odd directions and muscles sore that I didn't know existed.
Great fun though. Less rolling aoung than your caged swing thingy, more bouncing around on head (almost literally) which is less likely to make you vomit. Can recommend it as a fun way to spend and afternoon. Couple of jumps, then 3 days wincing when laugh.
AGGGGHHH!!!! Sounds absolutely terrifying - especially the running and jumping bit!!! Shan't be trying it any time soon. I didn't realise you were planning on doing more than one. Oh btw we can view your comments, in case no-one else has let you know. Can't wait for the next instalment. Take Care lol Samantha xx
Hello! HELLLLLLOOOOO! Seems like ages since I have sent you a msg. Kept checking blog and then suddenly flood of pics and msgs Hurrah!!! Pics are amazing - can't believe how wonderful the place looks. Lol Samantha xx
Ah well, I guess the last few brain cells have been shaken out then :) I find it worrying that you almost make me feel like I would want to have a go - the jumping off a ledge (and I hate heights!) sounds cool! Not sure my ears would cope though, pants as they are. Luge sounds fun though. Quite fancy some bobsledding one day - I think your insanity is catching. Do me a favour though - imagine me sat at work reading your bit about screaming Meat Loaf. Then imagine me putting my hand to my forehead and shaking my head in despair! :D Keep having fun, nutter!
Better Matheson Well I've worked in Matheson House for nearly 5 years now and I (and the colleagues I just spoke to) can safely say that you got the better deal :) Absolutely stunning. I've done one of those 3D mazes before in Cornwall. The one I did had water-based booby traps if you went the wrong way! Oh, and regarding comment replies, the last ones I can see are on the bottom of your Power of Music post.
I've read last entry over and over and can't find mistake. Intrigued now. I'm sure someone will tell us what it is! Your replies to our questions comes up on the comments page. Stunning photos and you make me really giggle sometimes.
Hi Liz. Your blog is brilliant! Just read the last two - love the pictures. Was one of the lakes up-side down when you took the photo?
The walking down the mountain and getting knackered reminded me of doing Mt Kinabalu (highest in S. Hemisphere). I was staying in a guest house, my room being at the bottom of about 50 steps. When I had ascended and then descended the mountain, I didn't eat anything for the next 2 days because I couldn't get up the bloody steps to the restaurant! The following day, after taking about 2 hours to raech the top of the stairs, I saw the strangest sight ever. About 200 young people hobbling around like they were 120, some with sticks. All steps up and down being totally avoided except by those who had not yet embarked on the trip. People sitting at the same table in the restaurant all day because they couldn't get out of their chairs, let alone face the journey (several meters) back to their hut.
OOOoooo - just remembered - when you get to Brasil, make sure you have a traditional hot dog from a dirty street vendor. I won't spoil it by describing them, but let me know what you think. I lived on them for about 3 months because "hotdog" is the same in Portuguese as it is in English. I'm sure you wouldn't usually eat such rubbish but....!
Very jealous of you swimming with dolphins.
Keep having fun.
Love Tim
Taking the blame Missed an earthquake, quite sad now. That was caused by Meat Loaf finally getting out of his sick bed.
Feel free to keep passing the blame on to me. I'm still hacking into your system and feeding it's little gremlins. Can't have them going hungry.
Having a problem out here. Everyone on holiday, all very happy. Miss the daily winge. Need you both to come out here and give me someone to bitch with. Much harder with people you've only just met.
Earthquake? Cool, sorry to have missed it.
You should, in theory, be able to tell where I am from the route map. Will make sure I add in plenty of place names so you can check properly.
Staying in bottom of south island for about a week then heading back up east coast. Back to making it up as I go along until rejoin the bus tour out of Queenstown. Been very easy on organised tour, accomodation and activites booked as you go. Also nice travelling with the same people everyday. Most sticking around for a few days, but then everyone on different schedules so lots of new faces from now on.
Sinbathing Lying in the sun with a good when you're meant to be working. Much more fun than normal sunbathing since you can dream about what you're meant to be doing, while slobbing.
Remember berne and irene you may feel this was the beginning of your odd adventures. you agreed to help out by travelling in the boot. We took Irene and Berne to the yorkshire national park and then had a picnic in the sun.
You always manage to post these blogs when I'm least expecting it - I just went to read some news on Google Reader and it said 'Lizzie's Blog (1)' on it - big surprise! I promise I didn't laugh when you capsized into vomit. Or at least, I promise I felt guilty immediately after. Kidding! Looks like you're doing some properly cool things, and nice to see a few pictures of you for a change too, I can only assume one of you busmates ripped the camera from you hands and forced you to have your photo taken ;) But anyway, the whole blog gave me a big grin, some parts even moreso. Although I'm not sure it's the drink that makes you reckless :D
helmsley We met in helmsley years ago together with your parents and Miriam. Have a good time in Newzealand. I look forward to your interesting and amusing reports. What a great idea to travel!
Irene
Pic at last! Hello - good to see you again - had almost forgotten what you looked like (haha)! I know how to solve the music problem you're having, PLAY BON JOVI!!!! Good first impression of NZ - looking forward to hearing more soon! Lol Samantha xx
Plastic croc I'm disappointed - had expected you to have done the plastic croc thing already, but hey good reason to return to Oz! I do vaguely remember 'Round the Twist', I had banished the memory of it safely somewhere to the back of my mind..... It was bizarre! lol Samantha xx
Where are u? Mum Pam and I are sitting around this blog trying to work out where you are. Please can you be specific as we have the atlas out. Great photo. Would like to see you in a bikini too. The earth moved for us all here this week- a little earthquake. Someone must have been playing Meatloaf too loud.
Music, Music. OK. So what were you playing when we had the earthquake??
Glad you are enjoying life, should like New Zealand Sporty Ant. Yes we are missing you Nadia and I have nobody to blame any more. "Wish you were here" and we were not.
Jane
Dear, Dear Lizzie, my dear, the world was telling you to stop listening to Hanson about 10 years ago - there's a reason that Mother Nature in her infinate wisdom decided to make their voices break! Enjoy New Zealand, and all things LOTR there. Craig
I said a photo of you looking happy. Now I'm just going to be left wondering if travelling on your own has addled your brain somewhat! Oh no wait, I just remembered you at a Meat Loaf gig - you're obviously holding back in that picture! I must say, if you didn't listen to at least 'Australia' by the Manics and 'Down Under' by Men At Work over the last month, I may have to slap you. And Howard Shore is the only reasonable soundtrack to visiting Middle Earth!
I think most of the women you know are about as polite and gentile as you are. Make of that what you will! :) I would imagine a prison built somewhere where 30+ temperatures are the normal would reek a little, but there you go. Glad they let you out to catch your plane :)
