My wife, Jodi and I are missionaries. Our mission project is called Jak's Legacy and it is in memory of my wife's eldest son from her previous marriage. His real name was Travis and he was killed in a snowmobile accident on Valentine's Day 2005. Jodi was an EMT in the city in which they lived and was the first responder to arrive at the scene, not knowing it was her son until she saw him. The Holy Spirit moved her to write a book about Travis and she called it Jak's legacy. Travis had a heart to work with orphans in the missionary field after he graduated high school..he was only 16 when he died. The money from the sale of her book and the fund raisers we are doing goes to our mission to build an orphanage and clinic complex in Uganda, Africa, which is where we are traveling.

We take all the prayers of our friends and family with us to share with the good people of Uganda. I will be updating the blog as often as possible so check back now and then! Once we are in Kampala and the village it may be a couple days between updates so be vigilent...I will be updating! All our love to the people in Baudette Lutheran Parish and all our friends and ... read more

I'm not sure if I am doing this right ...so I put the location in above as where we are now. Anyhoo, my wife, Jodi, and I will be taking off the 28th of March for Kampala, Uganda, Africa. Jodi has been to Uganda 4 times now and this is my first journey. God has been leading us to this point and we are both very excited about going. Our church home, First Lutheran Church in Baudette and the other 2 church's in Baudette Lutheran Parish, Clementson Lutheran, and Wabanica Lutheran, have been so supportive to us and the mission of Jak's Legacy. We are so thankful for the support because the success of our mission depends largely on donations and the stewardship of God's faithful. The mission is to build and operate an orphanage, clinic ... read more
