Yesterday E. and I went for a guided tour in the Monteverde Cloud Forest Preseve near where we're staying in Santa Elena. It was a fantastic experience, our guide was picking out all of these things we never would have seen ourselves including howler and white-faced monkeys, toucans, crazy coloured insects and of course, E.'s all-time favourite, a pit viper 50 feet up a tree. How he saw it we're still trying to figure out, especially since it was greener than green. Other than that, we caught a glimpse of a resplendid quetzal, we really hope our photos of this turn out, because this is one handsome birds (!), with a 3 foot-long turquoise tail.
