Let's just say Dad has a really big extended family in the UK - no denying my ancestry is in England. It was really cool to meet so many people that I am related to. Kel & I ventured around Nottingham with my Gran's sister 'Aunty Bettie' and her husband Gerald. After a sudden departure from RSA --> approximately 6 hours from "You are flying out tonight" to "I'm on the plane" - I arrived in Heathrow to be met by my sister Kel who was half way through her gap year. We spent the evening in my first ever Backpackers. We spent the next few days doing the typical tourist things with some of her friends from Contiki. The list included: Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, London Tower, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, Big Ben, riding the Red buses, Oxford Street, River Thames, playing in the fountains and on the statues in Trafalgar Square and riding the Tube. ... read more
