Blisters Not in my case. I've walked 17 days now, almost all over 20 kilometers and several over 30 and not a sign of blisters. I have seen others with bad ones. I think my secret is my toe sock liners with good merino wool socks on top.
It's hard tp keep a Camino family together... sometimes you just have to let serendipity bring you back together. That was my greatest joy running across my dispersed family under the most unusual circumstances.
I like your comment after 10 km we stopped for breakfast... for me it would have been after 10 km I stopped for the day! Especially after climbing up and down that steep hill.
I stayed at the Albergue Quatros Cantones in Belorado... pretty good, with pilgrim meals served on the premises, a swimming pool, and washers and dryers. There are many cafes to choose from around the main square. Buen Camino!
I continue to enjoy your blogs... which bring back my memories. I'm impressed with your walking distances. After I sprained my ankle coming down the Alto de Perdon, and staying at the albergue in Uterga, I had to limit my daily distances to about 10 km. I took three days to walk what you took one to walk in this blog. Departing Logrono, I stayed overnight in Navarette and Ventosa on the way to Najera. Then I took the bus to Santo Domingo de Calzadas...my favorite stop on the entire Camino. I hope you enjoy it there too.
Not easy I imagine that was a bummer. Even without issues it is pretty rough at times. I wish I could put more interesting stuff in my blogs, but not much happens most days. I am trying to add stuff about the albergues to help others understand and make good choices. So many shy away from the municipal and church albergues thinking they are bare bones and old. Glad you are enjoying my blogs.
I started my Camino... staying at the Albergue Maribel Roncal and ate lunch and dinner with my new Camino family at the Asador El Tremonte. During the afternoon I took the bus into Pamplona to see the sights and then walked back. Thanks for the memories!
Well done... Lesson #1: Don't believe any signs showing distance. It's always farther. And when you see your destination in the distance and think you are almost there, you aren't!
Make that Sep/Oct 2016! You will need the carbs. They provide your muscles with the energy they will need. I didn't eat enough carbs and paid the consequences. Buen Camino!
