It's good that you met some nice people! Game attendance probably wasn't helped by the fact that the Hawks are 7-0 this year (and are traditionally mediocre to bad *and* lose to Northwestern...), and I have no idea when the 'Clones were last ranked. If it's not clear enough, we're Hawkeyes.

I don't particularly care to see this setup on a gas pump

1. Holy guacamole, Batman, I need to go to some of these places again as a grown up, and others for the very first time! What an amazing road trip you're on! 2. Rapid City is partnered with Apolda, which is like 15 minutes from here. The Apoldaer call it "Rabbit Zitty." 3. I'm not sure where you're headed in northern Iowa, but the Vesterheim (http://vesterheim.org) is really impressive for what it is. Laura Ingalls Wilder lived in Burr Oak (http://www.lauraingallswilder.us) as well. It wasn't included in the Little House series, though. Otherwise, Mason City is famous for stuff from the Music Man and has some Frank Lloyd Wright homes, too. Except for Rochester, southern Minnesota is a whole lot of nothing. Actually, most of Minnesota is a whole lot of nothing. It's gorgeous, though. Reminds me a lot of Finland. 4. How many photos have you taken of the Kum & Go?

Waiting on the Kum
I haven't seen any of those! I'll keep an eye out for sure, now that I know. And I'll definitely check out the Wright homes, since I think I'll have time for that, but I think the Vesterheim might be too far afield

University background
The university building has quite some historical background to be looking like it does today ;) The old 19th century building was standing aside the much older university church, then the war destroyed the university and the communists destroyed the church and after 2000 the GDR university building was again ... destroyed. After much discussion we got this modern mixture of a university building AND church ;) For the next short visit you can also try this 3 hours guide: http://panoramastreetline.com/news/drei-stunden-in-leipzig-rundgang-leipzig-walk

leaving...on a jet plane...
It was the best of times...it was the....hahahah the best of times. I'm so glad for this blog.. A wonderful record of all the fun we had...and of course...then the funnnn we had...hahahaha! Will...exploring italy with you has been belly-clutching funny at times, as I have laughed until I've cried and eaten some amazing and some not so amazing food....learned much and hiked much...discovered authentic 'rosemary' beads and even tried to spot the brothers....though they didn't look like them! Hahahahah! Enjoy your last couple days in Europe...and praying for a safe return home. It's been real!! Umm...another thing to put into the 'things we don't say anymore' book? Much love my brother!! Waiting to see how you bring this to a close! And! Where Next?!

It's great that you survived that dangerous trail!
However, what are you doing to do when you are back in the US and there are no more döner boxes to be had?

Kugel!!
Before I even read what those Kugel chocolate looking things you got were I swathe pictures and was like...Oooh me want! So I'm Pumped that I might get to try one. I've been so busy at work putting in all this extra time bc I have so much work to do...I may even have to bring a small bit with me...what's keeping me going is our travels in two days!!!! YAAAAAY!!!! Hmm...how shall we meet up? Shall I try and meet you at the hotel? And if so where are we staying? Ha! Things I pay no attention to! I've been reading the cinque terre book and looking things online so I can present you with some concrete plans...of course they'll be liable to change depending on how we feel etc etc....it'll be good hanging out. One thing I read that made me chuckle was your jaffa flavoured Drink! It's funny bc they have jaffa cakes here which is basically chocolate cakey things.. But I hate them bc the flavours of chocolate and orange don't taste nice together to me....and you found drinks that know Soooo many people here would love! Right.....enjoy ze Alps! And I'll see you soon!!
