stumbled on your blog
Hi there I just came back from a 5 week trip to thailand and malaysia. I stumbled on your blog when looking up Chieow Laan Lake. Whoa, if I had read this before I left, I'd be scared...didn't see snakes at the lake, but you did miss out by not going to the big cave! I also stayed at art's lodge. Your bus adventure would freak me out too. I went on an intrepid tour (aussie company) so all that was sorted for us.

Honey! I love and miss you lots too and had a GREAT time on this trip with you! You did a fantastic job blogging (even if it took us a while to finish up!)! I will definitely join in on parts of India if possible. XOXO PS: My "Chanel" watch is still working! Lol!

Hi Reet, Welcome home I love all your blogs! How amazing is Phu Quoc, one of my fave places in Vietnam along with Hoi An. Your photos look fantastic! We did pretty much the same as you and lazed around for 5 days straight. We stayed at sea star. How dodgy is the plane! I was also terrifed of the small thing. Im looking forward to hearing your opinion on Vietnam vs Thailand as you are very much a Thailand fan. Izzy x

Cassia
Cassia was $105USD per night for the room we had but there were cheaper rooms available and we were in peak season pricing too... worth it in my opinion.. great little place.

Afroman!
Stumbled across your blog when I googled "afroman tattoo". I got one done there in june '08 then ended up in the bar where he fronts a band. Fair to say he's a far better tattoo artist than singer! Did you get a chance to hear him? Think I'll probably go for another one next time I'm in Chiang Mai coz I was really happy with the work he done. Nice guy as well and he had the coolest little dog if I remember correctly! Altho it did pee on the floor when I was in!

mmm...coconut sweets and coffee!
Hi Reet (and McKay)...glad you are enjoying Vietnam we remember those coconut sweeties and Vietnamese coffee well! We got addicted to them too...we went on a Mekhong delta tour which showed the coconut sweets being made and we kept eating more of the free samples than we were meant to (sneaking up behind the guide's back so he wouldn't see us!). Keep on having fun!

your adventures seem pretty typical, but what sets your blogs apart, and makes them so special is your writing style. interesting, entertaining, great sense of humor, especially your ability to laugh at yourself, and not judge others. A budding author? thanks!!!

Those damn aweful aussies!
You two sound like you are having such an interesting time. I was reading up a bit about Cao Lao and they say it gets it's great taste from the water they use. Apparently you wont find any at other places that are reproduced as tasty as in Hoi An. That damn Aussie looks like a "Steve Irwin" wanna be! lol

Right here
Did not have time to write a comment last entry, but read it again and again. Reet, your writing and photos are a true joy to behold. The one of "Mimi" dancing in the rain made me cry, (happy tears), truly. Mimi, Mommy LOVES bracelets!! And send me a photo of your painting; how DIVINE the shopping sounds. I can't wait to see your clothes. Enjoy the final leg and be safe Girls! XOXOX McKay's "Mum"
