Family time in Italy
It was really fun meeting my brother and sister in law in Italy, we were so lucky we were able to meet up. Lecce does have a lot of tourists too (in the old town), but there are definitely areas (like the one we stayed in) that are far less touristy. It was far less touristy than Rome though, that’s for sure!

Cemeteries on hills
Your blog just reminded me of a country we visited where they had their cemeteries on hills so the living could see the candles/lights of their loved ones at night... I'll have to look up our old blogs to check where that was. How lucky the rain held off for that beautiful walk. Love the red roofs of Croatia :)

Cemeteries on Hills
The cemetery was on such a beautiful spot, and looked really interesting (we didn’t wander around as there was a funeral underway). I wonder if it was Mexico with the cemeteries on hills? Likely that’s common in lots of countries. I loved the red terracotta tile roofs too!

Gelato for dinner...
... that's my kind of dinner! Ah the rain was unfortunate but when we only have so much time in a place, there's not much we can do but embrace it and soldier on. Regarding the case of the missing milk, were you sharing the apartment with strangers or group members? I hope it was strangers, otherwise it would have been a bit awkward :)

Gelato for dinner
I think we had gelato for dinner at least twice! We shared the kitchen with the other occupants of the floor (just one other person in our group was on the floor, the occupants of the other two rooms were strangers). I'm sure it wasn't our group member who took the milk!

No Rain!
Wow, what a perfect day! The forecast rain seemed to keep the tour buses away, and yet it still didn't rain - brilliant! The Krka National Park looks amazing, somewhere I'd love to hike myself and wander around. Glad you got to see St James' Cathedral in the end. There seems so much history and culture in Croatia, I really had no idea! Very inspiring to read about your travels there, thank you 😊

Ah, I'm sorry to see the weather turned for you, but well done for not letting this stop you from getting out there and enjoying still. The Sea Organ sounds amazing, as does the Sun Salutation. How unique! Sorry you weren't able to climb this Bell Tower. I see you're not afraid to let the little kid in you come out while travelling - I often do the same too! And indeed, how rude of the person to take your milk - I'm not a big fan of communal kitchens for this very reason. Grrrr!

Well, the weather turned out much better than forecast - so I couldn't complain too much! The Sea Organ was just incredible. And yes, it's good to let the little kid come out while travelling and have fun!

I'm slowly catching up with your blogs, and am enjoying them very much. Split looks lovely, and I love the fact that Diocletian's Palace remains pretty much just as it was 2000 years ago! Sometimes when travelling I get distracted by the places I want to visit, rather than simply enjoying the travel itself - I shall remind myself of this quote in future. Yes, definitely reading your blogs here Lori 😊 Very interesting to find out more about Croatia, which I know very little about. The architecture and the Catholic influence seems quite Italian to me, and all the food looks amazing. I love the idea of a farm-to-table restaurant. Your blogs are also giving me inspiration for a trip to Croatia hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
