Edzna Wow you are certainly exploring the delights of Mexico Marcos. Edzna...you have introduced us to a lesser known Mayan gem. This pyramid with windows or doors is amazing. Could you go inside it?
Edzna Hey Dave, yes Ezdna is certainly a less explored site and what I love most of it,unlike others ruins, is that it is immersed in the forest and give the idea of being one of the first explores ,especially that day I visited that.Definitely a place to see..
Chichen Itza To bring your tent and camp in Piste was obviously a master stroke Marcos. To be able to wander the ruins at your pace without the hordes of tourists sounds like an experience I cannot find the words for the delight and interest that must have resulted. Seeing this Mayan mask carved in stone I think it must have been fascinating to see the difference in style between Mayan and Aztec carvings.
Chichen Itza Truly it was an unforgettable experience cause the hordes of tourist there was impressive but I still got to take pictures without many people around the ruins.
Piste was super and the local people very friendly.
I love both styles but Mayan carvings are my favourite, personally.
I am happy to have had the opportunity to visit most of the archeological sites in Mexico,it as very interesting and cultureful.
Blue sky day I enjoyed scrolling through your bright blue sky photos. I agree that Piste is lovely quiet little town...we enjoyed our time exploring it, especially as it was a great antidote for the crowds in Chichen Itza :)
Shaolin Si I visited Luoyang to see the Longmen Grottoes but also visited the "6 Star" Tourist site at Shaolin Si, which had that rare and highest rating in China. Is it still so rated? I have the Jet Li video at home which I presume is the film you refer to. I hope they still have the Kung fu show even if just for tourists. Having been brought up believing I am Grasshopper, I am saddened to hear of your report of Shaolin Si's decline.
Shaolin Si Yes Dave, unfortunately like most historical places in China are declining with the passing years.
But I still like to look at that as a place of great holiness and importance,I think places like this one never die and I am very happy to have come to admire this remarkable sight...
Canary Islands Must be the first blog I've ever seen of the Canary islands, Marcos. What a brilliant idea of yours to go there. A tent on the beach and your pics are surreal.
Kashgar Xinjiang is high on our bucket list Marcos but reckon I have to get there before it is too late. I note from your photos that the earthen market areas are now concreted so I reckon I may already be too late to catch the feel of the old before the new catches up. I hope not!
Kashgar Hi Dave, unfortunately it is changing everywhere:nowadays people wish concrete and have the same interests and losing their traditions and cultures.I feel sorry for beautiful countries of Asia..
Formosa Do the locals still call it Formosa or do they call it Taiwan? To be the only one in a National Park with jaguars at the end of your torchlight! Hopefully a memory that will remain with you always, Marcos. I hope wherever you spend Christmas day, you feel joy and peace and thankfulness for the path that you have just trod and what lies before you.
Formosa Hey Dave!!well Formosa belongs to the past and most of the people now call it Taiwan.
Travel is full of unexpected surprises and beautiful..
Thanks for the Christmas wishes Dave and the same for you and your family..
Happy New year.

When in China Great to hear you are traveling in China, Marcos. Gotta say it's one of my favourite places having traveled through 16 provinces and hopefully more to come. The Chinese people we find are some of the most hospitable on the planet and as you are speaking some Chinese I have no doubt many, many doors will open for you. Looking forward to more reports of your travels in the Middle Kingdom.
When in China Hi Dave, well right now I am not in China anymore, I am just publishing randomly all my blogs about my travels that are plentiful and will take years before I publish them all.
But I have to say that Asia is my favourite place and about China I am planning to go back there for a work experience next year...
Thanks Dave for your nice comments appreciate.
I was born on September 12 1983 in an Italian town called Rimini, located in the Emilia-Romagna province along the northern east coast of the Adriatic sea.
I lived there for a few years up to the age of 7 and I then moved with my family to my mother native town Brescia, where I grew up and spent my adolescence.
This idea about travelling around the world came up in 2006, a bit for the curiosity to see places that I watched on TV, when I was a child, and also with the goal to change lifestyle, to face new challenges, meeting and communicate with people of different cultures and learning t... full info
