Still here! We didn't make the standby flight so we are still here. Maybe a New Year's in BA or hopefully in the air, on a flight. We shall see. We did top the late dinner last night at 2 pm. Amazing how restaurants are still serving that late. We passed by a club on the way home and it was hopping. And so was some other club music we got to here in the hotel room to try and sleep. Bus Tour Trying to keep our sweat down to a minimum, we decided to take a city bus tour. It was open air but today it did seem cooler than previously. i kept thinking "cool" thoughts anyways. We headed round the city with an audio guide that was off cue most of the time but ... read more

Final Thoughts on Buenos Aires As we sit waiting at the airport to see if we get on the plane or not, here are some final thoughts. *I wish my job had the medical benefits they have here. Every 2 years you get a free plastic surgery. Remind me to request this in my next review. *The city is great, walking around and just deciding hey, I want to sit and have a coffee/beer/ice cream is fabulous. *I need to learn Spanish. *The trash is really unbelievable. This would not go on in Japan. I read about the recyclers that come out and dig through the city's trash helps since there is no organized recycling. But it looks like an awful job and they don't get paid much. *The giant throwing of paper today into the ... read more

The Beef Coma After eating about 4 lbs of beef last night I think we were in a beef induced coma. Got a late start and just decided to wander around the city, do some shopping, and just take in the atmosphere. We headed back out to my favorite street, Florida, to get in some more shopping. The street is just lined with shops and people selling stuff on the street itself. We stopped in for some coffee at Havanna, a coffee shop that seems to be like our starbucks. A couple of starbucks were spotted but not many. Subway was also seen, and Burger King had the quadruple burger. The Protest We did see a protest from the hotel window, not sure what they were protesting but there sure were quite a few marchers. Yesterday ... read more

Evita We decided to conquer the subway system today. I may not be able to read a real map but I can get around a subway. Fares are AP$1,10, or about US$0.25. An excellent price to get around. The hotel is situated right by 2 different subway lines so that is convenient. The lines aren't as good as other cities but it got us in the general direction of the La Recoleta Cemetery. We did have to walk quite a ways from the stop to get there. Of course the main gravesite is Evita Peron. She is buried with her family, not her husband. I looked around for Phil but that was a few season ago so I guess he is gone. The cememtery is amazing. The mausoleums are huge and you can see most of ... read more

Moving on...hotels, that is We moved hotels this morning and are now at the NH Latino. After settling in we set out in search of the Puente de la Mujer. Which I swear was a pitstop on Amazing Race but I can find no record of it. Manda, did we see this before? Anyways, we managed to take the long route and the Mexican sweat set in in record time. yuck. Please note Missy that your Christmas gift did make it down south. The bridge actually seemed like nothing special, it kind of sits across the port. We tried to make it to the ocean view but it was took much and we just walked along the "boardwalk" that no long had any lagoon off to the side. The food smelled good but we opted to ... read more

Can I read a map? We almost missed breakfast this morning because we overslept. Luckily since it was Sunday, it was open until later and we got to eat. No McGriddle today. So we decided to head out to the Presidental palace to see if it was open and then headed to the market. I say to see if it was open because the guy told us eh, sometimes it is sometimes it isn't. Great. Off we went. Now Alfred says I started yapping and that's how we ended up like a mile out of our way but I think it was his fault. Either way, I didn't get to hold the map again today. We were told to take main roads since the police wouldnt be on the side streets so that was enough to ... read more

Made it! Took a bus to the downtown bus station in hopes of getting a transfer to the hotel. Luckily there was one waiting and we didn´t have to attempt to hail a taxi. Guide books always seem to try and scare you with that. Of course the infamous Prague taxi incident has made me wary anyways. But all is well and we are awaiting a room. Hotel is nice and business center has free internet, I wish the wifi was free. And can I say it is quite warm and I am awaiting the sweat to start. Hope it´s not PR bad. Part Dos, Dia Uno Our room is nice. Had problems with the ATM, I hope I am not charged for the 3 times it told me it was giving me money. Walked down ... read more
