Awesome Trip! Well, nobody likes to say good-bye, specially to an awesome trip around the world. I hope you guys had fun and I'm glad you were safe and sound for the most part (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, Bethany). I'm totally with you on all of the shopping, you can never do too much and retail therapy is good for the soul! :) I hope to get a chance to see you soon.
Be Safe!
Amanda
Congrats! You made it! I know I haven't commented to this point, but I must say Robyn (and Bethany who I've heard so much about!) this has been such fun to follow you both on your whirlwind adventure. Way to go on making it through and coming out more worldly!
Can't wait to coffee and see pics Robyn! Talk soon.
Nicole
I'm glad you guys are coming home (and by that, I mean in one piece....the motorcycle story was a bit jarring for me to read, I can only imagine the panic that actually being there must have caused). With that being said, I'm a little sad that once you get here I'll no longer have your blog to read. Some of this stuff is better than TV! Glad you girls had fun.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm glad you guys are alright!!!!!I'm surprised Bethany would get on a bike but I'm sorry to say it, not all that surprised that she crashed it. I'm sorry I hope you're alright! Missyou lot's and as I've said before, stay safe! Maybe this time you should try to listen to that comment! :)
Long time no talk.... What exactly is bubble tea? And was it any good? Sorry it has been so long, I decided to move last week. Don't ask, it's a long story and much less interesting than your trip. I can't wait to hook up with you for coffee when you get back, it'd be nice to meet Robyn too. As always, take care and be safe!!!!!!
LOL You guys are OK though? That sounds like a pretty good story to tell in the future...and right now. At least you can soundly say that you rode a motorcycle. I hope you took pictures of the incident!!! Can't wait to see you guys next week...Have fun!
I hate to tell you this but... Calimari doesn't have fins... it's actually squid. I wonder what you ate.
It's sure nice to hear from you guys. It's not like we were worrying or anything but we have been praying for you guys a little more than usual. Actually, Bethany, I have a picture of me teaching you to ride a bike on the front walkway in Burdett. You were wearing pedal pushers and a big floppy pink hat. Maybe if you had the hat again you wouldn't be riding into trees.
I think this is the first time you've written where you haven't talked about plans for shopping. You must really be tired!
We love you and look forward to seeing you next week.

Good Moring, Vietnam!!! I've been aiting the whole trip to say that
A friend of mine who's been there several times said that there is a place just outside Hanoin where, for $10.00, you can shoot a cow carcass with a machine gun. Interested?
I'm glad that you have internet access in your room. We will be expecting twice daily updates from now on. I also hope that your luggage arrives as promised otherwise you might be FORCED to go shopping for more clothes before you go on you lake trip. That's not a bad thing except if you two do much more shopping you are going to upset the economy of the entire far east bringing wides spread economic chaos and leading to wars, famines, pestilence and untold other horrors. You guys have fun though.
Stay safe. We miss you and love you. We're looking forward to seeing you again.
Dad
Welcome to Vietnam Glad to hear you made it, funny how airlines never send a passenger to the wrong country or city but they do seem to lose luggage all the time. Hope your luggage is returned to you and nothing is missing from it! Robyn hope you are feeling better, stick to rice only for a few days and keep taking your pepto bismo. Watch your designer labels over there --most are knock-offs. Take lots of photos!!! ENJOY. Love ya, :D
Wicked Cool! :D I forgot to mention in my last coment, the nasty flood we had was just that, NASTY! I was stuck on deerfoot that night too, I only had one of my babes with me but even that was too many. I was so worried! I didn't see the van that was completely covered with water but then again that may be why. We mildly flooded our engine, I suppose you could say, no permanent damage but we we just about stranded too. Our average speed on Calgary's fastest and most used highway was 5 km/h peaking at about 10 km/h. Anyway, enough about Calgary, let's talk about you......Sorry to hear about the luggage issue and I hope ALL of it is returned! Hanoi sounds beautiful, woo hoo, tanning weather. Try to stay away from questionable food, specially if it's chicken, hope you're feeling better Robyn! Well I guess I've yapped my trap long enough, better save room for more comments. :) Have fun and as always be safe!!!!!
hmm........ You mean to tell me you spent how ever much money and traveled around the world to see deer and eat McDonald's!!!!! Well ladies....there's a deer out back and a McDonald's down the street. :P I'm just teasing you, I bet your having the time of your life! I wish I could be on this adventure with you. I do hope that you have better luck uploading pictures in Vietnam, I can't wait to see them. Be safe!
Mark's request Mark had asked that if you could find a bottle johnny walker blue he would be greatly appreciative.
take care guys and have a great rest of your trip!!!
plans for vietnam Hey guys, sounds like you are having lots of fun-excellent!!! Right now we are having a major storm, vans completely covered on deerfoot, good times. anyways, as i was telling work people about your trip, one of my friends freaked out when she found out you were going to vietnam. she was there like 2 months ago and was there for three weeks. so yes, she was going to write me a list of stuff to do that she would recommend so i'll send that along when she gives it to me. ha ha ha. she is really excited. she got a lot of awesome skirts and suits custom made for really cheap, but she said when you get them custom made (after you try the clothes on and they fit) to have them re-sew the seams (or else if you want to) b/c they don't do it perfectly incase they have to make alterations. so just a heads up. hope you are still taking lots of pics!!! were you able to go on an elephant ride? keep taking lots of pics.
Having fun...... I'm glad to hear that your having so much fun. I agree that getting arrested for shopping would be awesome, although getting arrested in a foreign country would suck!!!!!!! Pick your battles and just shop inside, remember Bethany, we've got a coffee date! I can't drive to India for coffee!!!!! :) Take care and be safe!!!!!
Good Times!!!!!! Glad to hear that your feeling better! I told you the retail therapy would help!!!! :) Ok I'm sure that plenty of water and rest helped but it was mostly the retail therapy. :) Take care and be safe!
Break my stride!!!! Glad to hear your feeling better!!!!! I too didn some searching for you and discovered that every is right Mathew Wilder did the original in 1984 BUT.... Blue Lagoon did the version I think your looking for in 2004, yes the lead singer is a girl. Very nice version too. Hope all is well and I agree with Aunt Susan, Purell is a must!!!!!!!!! We have some in the car, one in every room of the house and in every diaper bag, just so we're never stuck without it. Take care and as always be safe!!!!
WASH YOUR HANDS Here's praying you took purell with you? You need to wash your hands as much as you can there and drink lots and lots of water. If that doesn't make you feel any better there probably are some good drugs - at the pharmacy - that can help. Need plenty of rest to find those perfect sandals for your favorite auntie - and all the earrings your father has given his blessing for you to buy for me. Who the heck is/are Men/man in hats? and isnt it Bo Diddy - and he had a heart attache or took a heart attack to remind you of your Gramma, the other day. Love to you(s) - stay safe and clean and happy shopping. XOXOXO
Good Old Internet Love the updates, seems like you guys are having an amazing time. Did some research for you, according to wikipedia the original song was sang by Matthew Wilder, which is weird cause I was with Robyn thinking it was a girl. It has been covered by 6 different people and also (as you guys pointed out) Diddy (remember, the P was in the way).
My apologies to "Men Without Hats" I was mistaken about the original author of that AM Bubble Gum hit, "Break My Stride." I thought it was the Australian one hit wonder group, "Men Without Hats." In fact it was another one hit wonder, "Matthew Wilder" who took his "row boat to China to find ya'"... yeah, the 80's was a true renaissance age for music. The new millennium has favored us with Puff Diddy and Snoop Dog... much more sophisticated pap. (Homer Simpson voice, "Wait a minute...!)
Anyway, ladies... I'm glad you're feeling better. Finger chips sounds like the kind of meal that Hannibal Lechter might enjoy. Do they give you a bone plate to go with those fries?
I'm off to Church... doing sound today. Jordan (and Allison?) are coming over for lunch. I think we might have macaroni and cheese. What's another name for macaroni? Elbow pasta! Are we sensing a theme here.
Love you. Stay safe. Be well.
D
Rest up! I'm sorry to hear that the two of you are sick. Try some echinacea, double dose the first time then one a day and you should be better in a couple of days. I'm glad to hear you spirits are still up. Don't forget that retail therapy heals almost any illness!!!!:) Well ok maybe not but it can't hurt to try!!!! Oh and Bethany...I've got "The Hostel 2" now so we'll see how worried I am about you guys after I watch another scarey movie about travelling, LOL! :) Take care get better soon.
Men without hats? I didn't even know that you guys knew any songs from the 80's. At least you could have picked a good one (not that there were a lot of good songs to choose from in the 80's, come to think of it!) I'm sorry you're sick. :( It sounds like your adventure is continuing apace, though. I take it that ordering room service there is nothing like as expensive as it is here? I ran across a show about McDonald's in India the other day and it was saying that they don't serve beef and they even have vegetarian McD's. Is that true? What's the point!
Have (more) fun, Ladies. Stay safe!

That's too bad.... It sucks that you didn't get to go to Jaipur to ride the elephants, that sounded really exciting. As for the Wal-mart/Superstore/Ikea......What's the address? I'm movin' in!!!!!! That's like my three favorite stores all rolled into one, oh yeah!!!! Keep your gaurd up, fighting like this makes people crazy. Keep each other safe and have fun for the rest of us!!!!!!!
Miss Ya Lot's!!!!!
You have to what in a basin? No price is ever set, you can barder with almost anyone. Keep that in mind. I'm excited to hear about the elephant rides. I can't believe you have to shower in a basin, what's with that? I would have a fit! I love to relax in the tub though, so showering in a basin in the middle of the bathroom would really be torture. LOL! :) Take care girls and be safe!
it protects me tee he he hey, ha ha as soon as i read the title of your blog i started singing, and then i read your first line and could not stop laughing!!! Have you guys found any cool necklaces, or is it really weird stuff? i've been updating my friends at work of your adventures, so i'll be anxious to hear about the elephant rides when you guys get back so i can tell your stories. you're pretty much famous at the gi clinic, ha ha. please take lots of pics of the elephant rides-omg so freaking cool!!! and any other animals that you may ride...ha ha. live it up ladies, live it up!!!
