Geo: 52.3738, 4.89095hey all from Amsterdam!! Finally my Contiki tour has begun!! Already, im wrecked lol. Its gonna be a tiring journey. the tour group seems alrite... there is 6 guys and 28 girls lol... one of the guys is up with his gf too. the rest are real bogans lol. 85% of the group is from Australia, maybe more. All in all the group itself seems alright, and i get along with em okay..Amsterdam itself is everything its been cracked up to be and more. Started last night with a walk around the redlight district, and then a canal cruise with unlimited drinks which was really awesome. After that, decided to go with most of the group to Grasshoppers "coffee shop" for hours of continued drinkin, dancin, and a bit more. Today im feeling pretty ... read more

Geo: 51.4587, -1.80397Well the final part of the tour was at Bath City. The journey there took a nice drive through the English countryside. I never appreciated that there was so much open space in England. Meadows, and farmland as far as the eye can see. Eventually we reached Bath, which has a very different style to London. The buildings here are all a sexy mustard type colour.. and all very old. The main reason for coming here was to visit the Roman baths. A really unusual site built by the romans almost 2000 years ago. It was built above a spring, which was naturally heated by underground gases n such, n makes the water around 40C. There was heaps of roman relics and artifacts here to look at too, as well as Bath Abbey, another ... read more

Geo: 51.2604, -0.726463Hey all!! il prob be brief cos once again the cost of internet here is DISGRACEFUL and im already super broke. Yesterday I went on a tour through the English country side. The inspiration for choosing it was that i wanted to see stonehenge so i thought id see a couple other significant things while i was at it. It was all pleasantly priced at a mere £65 (Student rate!!) thats like $170AU... sob.anyway the trip was pretty damn good so thats all that counts! Only thing of concern is that I was one of like 4 under 30s lol but ah well, was easy to meet them. One being a 25 year old aussie guy, and the others were two 19 year old canadian girls. I LOVE canadian accents!!! ;) First part was ... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236yeah all.. theres a severe problem for me now regarding uploading photos.. as NO computers anywhere have my camera drivers, and i dont have the CD.. its all over. Like, the first time i uploaded, it was a fluke i downloaded drivers and installed them all.. n that took over half hour. I can maybe go look around and somehow get a driver CD for Epson, or maybe i can upload pics when i find somewhere with actually cheap internet. DAMN Annoying!!! iv already wasted an hour and plenty of money today tryna get the right drivers on crappy laid out computer set ups.. now watch me lose my camera and all traces of photos.Ah well.. ill keep taking em of course. and hopefully i can work somethin out.. somehow.. sometime.... read more

Geo: 51.2107, -1.25208Well yeah, im really rushing these entries atm just to get stuff down. cos yeah its a race against costs here.. about $5au just to use this for an hour here.. terrible. next part of my tour yesterday was to Stonehenge. This place was everybit as intriguing as i hoped for. It was really surreal to actually be there next to the Stones, which are upto 5000 years old. The whole area surrounding Stonehenge feels ancient, and mysterious. Sucked, cos nowadays you arent allowed to go up and touch the stones of the main circle, cos apparently tourists were going there and chipping off souvenirs for themselves!!! There was an audio tour of it too which informed me more about the monument. There was a fallen stone which you were allowed to touch. its ... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236hey all!! im gonna keep this a bit quicker, cos ive been wasting my internet cafe tryna get camera working! Wow i had a really awesome day yesterday!! Saw so many things. Walked for 9 hours doing it, but yeah. What did i see.. Big ben, house of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Whitehall, Nelsons Column, Elizabeth memorial, those whacky royal guards, Hyde Park.. could go on for ages. The best of all so far i rekon was Westminster Abbey. Im not the greatest religious advocate, but damn, this place took my breath away. the architecture inside, and the amount of kings and queens over the ages actually entombed here is crazy. the place is almost 1000 years old.wish i could have taken photos inside, but you cant. same with buckingham. everything is so ... read more

Geo: 51.5002, -0.126236Hey everyone! Well i made it. Fortunatley I actually ended up getting first class all the way from Melbourne to London!! Initially there was like nothing from Hong Kong to London, but somehow i managed to get a seat just before the plane left, and first class!! woo! Plenty of fancy wine for me, and March of the Penguins to make the journey go faster. Its all been a bit of an interesting experience so far.. After almost losing my passport at the baggage claim (yeh yeh shh) I somehow managed to navagate myself by bus and train from Heathrow airport London and then stumble off the train and get to my hostel. My room is at the very top of the hostel, and I staggered up a few million flights of stairs to ... read more
