Exciting! It sounds like you guys are having a great time. I am enjoying following the trip. I hope you are feeling better now, Kyle. Happy (belated) birthday, Darren. I miss you guys. Lisa
NAMASTE- are you stopping in India? I just met your MOM at the Westgate hotel in sunny San Diego! She is beautiful and what a dancer. Attending the T. C. Dance Club
competition International.
I am the Chief Concierge/PR Manager . I am Indian and wear a sari at my job so your mom had to stop by and tell me that she thinks that you must have been an Indian in your past life!
What an experience this trip must be for you and your brother.
HAVE FUN AS THEY SAY LIFE IS A JOURNEY AND NOT A DESTINATION!
Yudda Men!! Kyle and Darren, Your Mom dared me to log in so here I am. Will show everything to Lonnie. Great work, Kyle. I even thought the German word was spelled correctly. We sent a photo album from the tailgate party before the Seahawk game. Neat pictures of all, including the Bernard Brothers. Be safe and have fun. Mike.
What a wonderful trip! Your trip sounds amazing and it looks like you are fitting a lot in. Kyle-kind of looking like a serial killer. Those girls must go for the dangerous look. Keep having fun. We are enjoying living vicariously.
Love, Chuck and Ellen
Update Kyle and Dar,
You guys should start adding a few bullets of your upcoming adventures - maybe with dates in case anyone decides to join you...
Miss you guys,
Z
Saludos! If you guys get sick of the food over there you can come to Honduras and eat some hearty rice and beans! Looks like you guys are having a great trip, awesome photos.
wow Wat Phra Kaew looks amazing!!! Your stache is filling in nicely - like an extra on the set of Pirates of the Caribbean :) Hope you're feeling better soon!

Hope you dont mind us adding you!! We are about to do a similar trip through KL and Thailand and really enjoyed reading through your journal. Looks like we're going to Ko Phi Phi now!
Good luck with the rest of your trip guys
Need proof I think we need to see Kyle's wonderful face. Darren, you need to capture Kyle's best features with the camera. I'm sure dad will enjoy seeing you with that "Neenah" look again. This time with the facial hair added.
Amazing Pictures! Hey Darren,
It looks absolutely amazing there. I am so glad you guys are having a good time. Just to give you a Minnesota update, it was warm today at 3 degrees (the past few days have been below zero). Anyways, it's nice to see pictures with warm weather in it. Keep having a great time!

accommodation in HK Marika - my brother and I stayed in the Chung King Mansions. The location is great. It is right at the base of Kowloon on the metro line. It is easy to get anywhere from there, however, the specific place we stayed at wasn't the best, I wouldn't recommend it and the "Mansions" themselves are kind of slummish. That said, it was only about 20 U.S. a night and for HK that isn't bad. We used www.hostelworld.com to book it. Hope that helps!
Where did you stay Great reading. We're planning a trip to Hong Kong in April 2008 and after reading about your visit I really can't wait. We are currently trying to sort out accommodation. Any recommendations? Would love to know where you stayed.
kyle! i wanted to let you know i have yet to do the ginger dance since you left ... i think i may need to put it away until you come back... miss you already!!!
Snakes Hi Darren and Kyle, really enjoyed reading the blog, and hoping you have a journey of a lifetime. By the way, what's up with the snakes? How big was the anaconda you saw? Best, Chuck
Love your writing Hi Kyle and Darren, Thank you for proving a great travelogue. We are enjoying following your progress. Have a great time. Make sure you get some snake pictures. (chuck favorite)
My dad just fainted I hope you guys realize that Chuck probably just had a mild heart attack as he read about the anaconda swimming in front of you on the boat. I can't even imagine what his reaction would have been had he seen that in person!
I'm glad to hear you're having such an amazing time! Keep the pictures and updates coming!
so far.... everything sounds and looks amazing. i find it so inspiring that you guys (hi, darren!) are venturing to new places and embracing it all. this travelblog is a great way to stay connected too. keep it up and enjoy. le monde est a vous! peace~tricia
PBR??? Does PBR taste better the farther from Milwaukee it gets?
Sounds like everyone had a good time in Hong Kong, Enjoy KL, Malay Coast, and islands.
And for my sake remember to call our mother from time to time.
I quit my cushy job in health care software in January of 2008 and hit the road with my younger brother Darren (the one on the left of the photo). We had plane tickets to South East Asia and not much of a plan beyond that. It turned into one of the best years of my life. And, as a result of this blog, I convinced many of my friends to leave their uninspiring jobs and travel as well!
I am now finishing medical school in the United States and starting residency shortly. Money is tight, becoming a MD has me pinned down, but I jump at every opportunity I can to get out on the road.... full info
