If you're going to come to Japan you HAVE to see Mount Fuji.. it's just a given. Which is why me and Zoe pre-booked our Mt Fuji daytrip before we even came here. It means getting up stupidly early to catch the coach but I guess it was sort of worth it. Wasn't as brilliant as expected but still kind of amazing. After our hideous 7am early morning wake up, finally stumbled out of bed and set off on our journey. Pretty straightforward subway route to the bus terminal in a place called Hamatsucho. Our tourguide on the coach was kind of adorable/kind of mentally unstable. Don't get me wrong she was unbelievably friendly and very helpful with everything, but my godddddd the voice! That woman loves to talk, especially during bus journeys that I was ... read more

Scababadabadoooo. We had such a lazy day! Woke up with a killer hangover, felt like I was dying so passed out back into bed about 12 and slept straight through all day.. was most definitely needed! I had forgotten what a good sleep felt like. When we finally woke up, Jared (oz dude) and his travelling partner Angela came with us for a meal. We decided on Indian.. we had been craving it ALL day! Good god it felt good to be eating a curry again, I almost felt at home.. almost. It was a little overpriced but delicious all the same! Chicken Dopiaza at its best. We continued our lazy day in style by all of us crashing out in our Hut room drinking 100 yen (thats about 70p) vodka and lemon cans and watching ... read more

Had quite a nice sleep last night! Toko and Julie and Claire (irish girls) left today :( sad times. That:s one of the worst things about hostels, people come and go so quickly. Just as you're getting to know them.. poof, they're gone! We finally made it to the photography museum in Ebisu today. The one that we attempted to go to on Monday but it was closed. The gallery was pretty cool, some of it was a little pointless but it was semi-interesting to see! We pigged out on food so much while in Ebisu. Just kept buying stuff to eat for no reason.. this place is lethal! you can't help but eat. After the gallery we went to a restaurant in Shinjuku. More goddamn food! Some of it was delicious but the tofu salad ... read more

As most of you know, I am not a morning person. When I say mornings I mean anything from before 12pm.....nevermind 5am! This is the time I got up today! The reason I was up at this god-awful-time in the morning is because of Tsukishima fish market! It is world famous and is apparently most buzzing before dawn, which turned out to be true! Aside from the vile smell, it is pretty interesting. I saw some of the biggest fish I've ever seen in my life, being chopped up.. lovely! (some were still alive). A couple of my friends thought it was a must to eat some sushi after watching these large fish being quartered, however the thought of it churned my stomach. I can handle sushi when it's with rice and other flavouring, but they ... read more

My god, what a day! i am officially done in, beyond the point of knackered and ready for a damn good nights sleep. we actually managed to get up pretty early today, when I say early I mean 10.30am which IS early for me. So first we had a mcdonalds and headed off to ebisu town as there is a photography gallery there that we wanted to see.. however because we're a little bit (a lot) special, we hadn't bothered checking the opening times in our guide book and had failed to notice that it's actually closed on Mondays.. ridic! However we took the journey to ebisu anyway, and discovered that the photography gallery is actually inside a gorgeous little area called ebisu gardens.. and it was very pretty to look at. We shall be returning ... read more

WOOOOOOOOO fun day! I have officially fallen in love with everything about japan.. from the culture, to the place itself, to the style! I have so far not seen one japanese person dressed badly, every girl is in heels! it is my mission to become as fabulously dressed as them. Today is Sunday and we went to Harajuku! On Sundays japanese girls dress in doll outfits in Harajuku, Im not entirely sure why but they e such cute outfits. So this place is incredible... in terms of shopping.. it is every girls dream! Sky high buildings and endless roads of all the best brands and shops. We went into Topshop and H&M and I could not believe how expensive they were! crazzzzzzzzzyyyyyyyyyy. My favourite part of Harajuku was this one long narrow road completely full of ... read more

spent most the day asleep, still catching up from jet lag! had some food and a shower then started drinking, amaretto and coke - mmmm!! we then started our mission for a night out in roppongi, which is apparently the best nightlife in tokyo, and gotta say.. it didn:t let me down! went with the 2 irish girls and toko, already pissed most the journey. we started with kareoke and i have to say it was one of the funniest moments of my life, it was beyond hilarious. we had our own boothe and sang all the classics from spice girls to abba for an hour, whilst drinking mango/grape sake. after that we went to an awesome bar/club called gaspanic. its amazing how much we get started at for being different, gotta say i love standing ... read more

What an amazing day! Just arrived in Tokyo and just as we were walking through I realised I forgot my pillow and had to run back onto the plane, duh! The weather is incredible and Japan is just like you imagine it. Little hut style houses everywhere!! So once at the airport we got the train to Shinjuku which was pretty expensive but a very long journey. Loved the trains, totally poo all over Virgin trains back home. Once in Shinjuku we got the shinjuku subway line to Akebonobashi, 2 stops from Shinjuku which is where our hostel is. Found it pretty easily and absolutely love our hostel! Its called The Ace Inn. We have only booked it for 4 days but most likely will extend as its perfect location and very friendly. We have free ... read more
