Back in the real world... I was in the St Ann's gym today and spotted your tennis lessons flyer still on the bulletin board. After a few minutes of debate I decided to bin it as your commute to the tennis court seems rather unmanageable at the moment. So when you get back you will have to put up a new one. Looking forward to hearing about Australia!
Oz hi hope you're both well and enjoying Sri Lanka. It's every bit as expensive here as you said it would be !
Have had to resort to self catering already
hello Have been enjoying following all your adventures.
Makes our recent little trip to Cornwall pale into insignificance! Don't envy you the lengthy bus trips though!
Hope you find the elusive potatoes soon!
in search of the potatoe ! Hi I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy reading about our exploits !
We have a couple of grueling days of travel and we are now sitting at Singapore airport waiting for our flight to Perth, where we will find those potatoes !
First football for 6 weeks and some bugger phones us on Skype! Hi intrepid leaky travelers, hope you've dried out from the jungles and that your 7 hour luxury bus trip was delightful. Seems we interrupted the football - you probably have a better knowledge of the score than we do! Will be getting out the atlas to find out where KK is, suspect Kings Cross is not the answer. Had a great afternoon eating apple pie/apple scones/apple cake/apple burgers with jam and cream (anything as long as it's got apples in it). This is what passes for excitement in 'The North'. D&Cx
Score draw Hi
yes it always happens, I just sit down to watch the footie and someone calls ! It was great to be disturbed and it was half time !
I hope you're saving us some apple pie and cream for when we get back.
I expect by now you've found KK on your map and Sandakan. A grueling 7 hours by bumpy coach away.
We leave for Perth on Wednesday so plenty of food but probably won't be able to afford it.
Hope to catch up by Skype soon.
Steve
It 's a tough life! Heh, we are starting to feel sorry for you, all that travelling, challenging transportation and no potatoes!
It's great to hear how you are, keep us amused please by further tales......travel safely, XXX
Donations accepted Hi I'm pleased to hear that you're still keeping an eye on us. Yes transport has been a bit rough at times, so if you feel sorry for us then please send money so we can afford more style !
We look forward to messages from Blighty so please don't forget us !
another grandchild Hi you two
it sounds as if you are having an interesting and hot time so far, I love reading your blogs, some comments are quite humourous! Our big news is that Mel had her baby girl on Saturday morning and 3.07pm (date 28th Sept) after quite a prolonged labour. They are both well although Mel is knackered. The baby is called Ella Rose and she weighs 7lb, she looks like a little doll but of course very beautiful. Life with us is carrying on as usual, Jeff has put in for a redundancy package and even if he does'nt get it is still going to retire so he will be leaving in about March next year, he will then get a part time job. I will carry on working but I only do two days anyway and I enjoy my job so its not too bad.
Anyway, carry on travelling and stay safe
love Jane and Jeff xx
Congratulations ! Hi Please pass on our congratulations to the new parents and old grand parents !
If Jeff retires in March, then come out to NZ and join us. We have room in our camper van.
I'm pleased to hear that you're not fed up hearing our travel exploits.
See you not very soon !
Shades of Thailand Hi Chris and Steve. That shellfish reminds me of the giant blue shelled ones we ate in Thailand at the local restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Tasted delicious. When we ordered wine we saw one of the waiters disappear on his bike and return 10 minutes later with a bottle. We only had one course as our translator had gone and we couldn't understand any of the menu!!
It's like having star dust in your hands ! Hark at you! Must be the heat your starting to wax lyrical.
Do these places know your coming? Everywhere seems to be closed when you get there. Hope Christine's tums better now. Jane and I are waiting with bated breath for our grandaughter to arrive, due next Monday so could be anytime now. Starting to make plans for John and mine's party in Nov band and hall booked and invites sent. No point in sending you one where will you be on 16th Nov? Take care both and keep sending the updates.
A poet ! Hi Perhaps I'm a secret poet and you didn't know it!
Hope the baby comes on time. We're in Singapore airport lounge at the moment waiting for our flight to Borneo. Can't believe we've been away nearly 5 weeks already! Time's shooting past.
We'll be in our little camper van somewhere near Brisbane on the 16th Nov. Set up Skype and we can join you.
Have a good time
Steve
Back from luxury hotel Hi Steve and Chris,
None of this jungle lark for us! The nearest we got to palm trees was on the lovely promenade in Split, Croatia. A lovely, sunny week but now home in the UK to perishing cold again! The forecast for 2 days' time is warm again but you don't want to know that!
After you mentioned Bill Oddie and Kate Humble we had a week's Bill spotting. It's amazing how many Bill Oddie look-alikes we saw. No Kates though. You could have got the salt-water eye infection in Blackpool and it's much cheaper, especially out of season.
We're desperately thinking of where else to go before Christmas but Malaysia isn't on the list, even with the lovely turtles.
Lookie likie Hi I'm pleased to hear you had a good week in Split. Are the bullet holes still in some of the buildings?
Talking of lookie likies, we saw a chap on the island who was the spitting image of Gary Glitter ! but without the children. I didn't think I should put that in, I didn't want to offend any of his friends !
We're now further down the east coast and leave for Singapore tomorrow by coach.
Christmas ? we can offer you a bed in our camper van in Australia !

Holiday Good to hear you've had a bit of relaxation. We're sitting in a bar in Peyia enjoying the last few days of relaxing holiday, no car and its wonderful. Seeing wedding planner tomorrow, booked for 17th sept 2014. Will let you know how building work progressing when we go home, I'm sure you're interested.
Enjoy your vacation speak soon
Ed & Helen
Building work ! I'm pleased to hear that you've fixed the date. At least you'll get sunshine on the day.
You'll have to book our flights for us as we won't be able to whilst moving around------ that's if we're invited !
Have a good last few days.
Holiday Right, NOW you are on my type of holiday! Beach, sun chairs, tropical fish and frozen drinks for lunch. But I will enjoy hearing about your next adventure from the comfort of my kitchen ; )
We are Steve & Chris. In 2013/2014 we travelled around the world and had a wonderful time. The nomadic existence suited us more than we could have imagined. So once back in the UK we soon got bored (well I did) and over the winter months planned another trip. Only 3 months this time to revisit Malaysia, the bits we missed last time and to explore the outback of Australia.
Only crocodiles, snakes and spiders to avoid !
