So the last 2 days haven’t been the most exciting but they have definitely been really cool…hey, I’m in Berlin what isn’t cool?! The other day I slept in late and then ventured forth hoping to cover more of the Tiergarten than I did before and I did , I still didn’t cover the whole thing but I’m pretty sure I got the jist of it. It is a massive beautiful forest in the middle of a crazy city, what more can you want? It took me about a hour and a half to walk to the zoo and then I made my way back towards the hostel, I chillaxed on a few benches along the way as it was awesome weather . I got back to the hostel around 7pm, first thing I got was ... read more

Ok the day wasn't very busy, but it was quite productive . I sorted out my car loan payments, travel arrangements and booked my ticket to see NINE INCH NAILS!! WOOT WOOT!! I didn't leave the hostel until around 4pm, before i left i did make a soup that tasted really nice. I just threw some vegetables in a pot with a few spices and it turned out great. As i said i left at around 4pm and went to the Tiergarten which means “animal park”, it did use to be the royal hunting grounds after all. A lot of it was destroyed when Berlin was being bombed and then what a lot of what was left was cut down by the public for fire wood when there was the big financial crisis. I only covered ... read more

Berlin is great, a city that is open to expression and cultural diversity. It is definitely the place I want to be I arrived Sunday afternoon and didn't really do to much, I grabbed some food and just wandered around close by to the hostel. When I got up I planned to do what I do in each city if it's available, a walking tour. I thought it started at 2pm, but it didn’t it started at 1pm so I had to wait until 4pm. I decided to walk there as it’s cheaper, you see more of the city and the weather was beautiful. I first walked to the central train station as I wanted to see if I could change my train ticket so I could go and see Nine Inch Nails . The woman ... read more

I planned to have a quite day, it didn’t quiet work out like that. I got out of bed and decided that I have to send some stuff home which I have been meaning to do for quite sometime. I translated a few things I would have to ask at the post office in to Czech and then I set out with my bag full of crap to be sent off and a smile on my face. I stepped outside and the weather was looking unforgiving…again. I went to the closest shop to find a box to put my stuff in to. I found a box that still had products in it so I packed the the shelves and took the box and went back to the hostel. I taped up the box and then left ... read more

The bus left for Terezin at 10am, I was up at 9am and out the door by 9:15. I ran to the train, to the bus information, then to the bus platform. I sat as I believed I deserved the rest. The sky looked very dark and cruel, yesterday had been an amazingly beautiful day. The day I pick for a day trip it had to be raining, it started raining as I got on the bus but the rest of the day it only drizzled on and off . The bus dropped us off at around 11am in what felt like the middle of nowhere almost. There was a sign that pointed left for the Terezin museum of right for the small fortress, I picked right. The first thing that starts to weigh really heavily ... read more

As the title states today was uneventful. I went to the station and searched for the ticket booth to book my ticket to Terezin for tomorrow, 4 information booths and a lot of walking later i found it tucked away. I then went back to the hostel ate some lunch, relaxed and spoke to Steph before she goes to Bali on the weekend. I then thought it was time to enjoy the gorgeous day at hand. I picked the Botanical garden on the map, what a crock of shit. The garden was awful (look at the photos), it was just some groups of plants in the ground (in pots still!) i didn't like it at all. So i picked the next closest green patch i could find on the map. I got to the park and ... read more

I didn’t write yesterday as I didn’t do anything really, just a day of relaxation...mainly sleeping . Today I HAD to do some stuff, but in the morning I was lazy again. I have found hat generally in hostels I can use their downloads so I downloaded the new episodes of Weeds season 5 (one of my favorite shows ever!), I have also downloaded In to the Wild and a handful of music albums…so awesome! After stuffing around for a dew hours and having over cooked hard boiled eggs it was time to officially start the day. First I went to Tesco to sort out dinner and I got a nice backpacker staple…pasta, which is always good. I went back to the hostel and dropped it off. I picked a park on my map (Petrinske) and ... read more

Plan today was go to the free tour by the same company that did the tours in England because they were just so darn good! It started at 2pm so I just wandered around the city in the morning, and at around 2pm made my way to the Old Town Square. The tour began and straight away I knew it was going to be really good the tour guide (George) was so enthusiastic, it came through loud and clear that he loved the city and he wanted everyone to as well. He explained the history of Prague quickly but with enough detail that I feel I have a grasp on this beautiful cities history. His story telling skills were awesome you were completely focused on what he was saying, how the Czechs have gone through so ... read more

Up at 11:00am again , got up packed my bags as my trained left at 1:00pm. I said my good byes and then literally ran to the train. My legs felt as if they were on fire, they were still sore from the epic quest from last night but I had no choice but to run if I missed that train it would be a big kick in the balls! I jumped on the train and relaxed , I slept for about 2 hours out of the 3.5 hour journey. When I arrived I navigated yet another public transport system in a foreign language, I got to the hostel dropped my stuff and headed out to see a bit of the city and get a feel for it. I went to Old Town Square, just from ... read more

The day started late because of the early morning, noon to be exact. We decided to go to the Zentralfriedhof cemetery, I was happy to go again as with Emily I was only there for half an hour and it was pretty rushed as she had a flight to catch. We arrived and we went to Mozart and Beethoven’s grave I had already seen it but was more than happy to it again, as we were wandering around an elderly lady stopped us and asked “where are you from? Did you know that that is a church over there, and did you also know that Falco is buried here?”. She pointed us in the direction of them and the church was really nice, it was awesome to see Falco’s grave (Rock me amadeus, R R Rock ... read more
