Gutten Tag - Okay goodafternoon - see I'm talking like a local ( or at least they get a good laugh everytime I open my mouth) I'm going to try to get more photos up... this is wasting a lot of my time at internet cafe's, so I shall try to limit it and you shall all have to put up with my text.... Had my first major prang today (It had to come)!! Y'all know me... Yep downhill....It wasn't my fault - I was distracted by 2 hotties that quite frankly were better to look at than the hair pin bend with water on it... It's amazing how much sympathy a bit of blood and a graze can get you... If I had deliberately tried this as a pick up stunt, no doubt there would ... read more

Spent a lot of time in Linz... Found a place to reduce the photos on my camera so I shall now try to down load them.... Problem - I arranged to meet up with Vincent at the internet cafe (but I could not find it)... Why dó so many buidlings and streets look the same????Fabulous ride from Linz to Grien.... I detoured to Mauthausen conentration camp - Cannot really explain the emotion you feel in a place like this... This stands as a dark part of our worlds history that I hope we never see again... It is located high up in the hills from the Danube - A long, slow uphill ride into a very picturesque countryside.... Coming back down (probablý too fast) and tangling with tourist buses etc was an experience.... I am now ... read more

You have got to see this place.... Riding along the Danube is an experience in itself... Sweeping river bends, lush forrest, the scent and sounds of the environment... Accomodation is great - clean, easy to find (maps and the locals that help you to find your way is just a part of the challenges that present themselves... Caught up with a couple (Ulrich and Monica) at breakfast, I had travelled with them across the Danube on a ferry... They are from Dusseldorf and also have a daughter who has done exchage in Sydney.... Interesting that when ever I am asked if I am English, I réspond with Nein, Australian - the reaction is of great interst.... The language barriers break down very quicky and the conversations flow in an interesting and very satisfing way... Met up ... read more

Got my trip and travel gear at the first hotel... (All info in Deutsch - you all know how well I speak german - Shitzen houzer!!!! Spent the rest of the day looking throughout Passau for maps and guide notes in English (Australian would be better still)... Everyone - especially the 'Hottie' working at the info centre were great.... Met a young fella there also from Chillz (Vincent) who was also struggling with the lingo.. Man this dude has a major touch of Tristan in him.. same age, has ridden from Salzburg on a bike he bought there, loaded up with all his worldy possessions (Including guitar) with no cycle repair kit ( and doughy tyres).... I helped him out and agreed to see if we'd catch up in the morning on the way out of ... read more

Flights were good..... Clear views across central Australia showing our baron and dry landscape... U wouldn't believe what u can see from that height - There was a red head abo kid behind a boab tree (Na, see - I knew u wouldn't believe it).... Sat next to a lady on her way to Serijevo (her husband is running a closed mission) then she is going to Bosnia (her son is a priest) A good fun tour like that has to have a bonus package of an overnight stay in Bagdad followed by a stop over in Mexico... Got into Munich 6.am Friday - Trip into city by train takes u through beautiful lush green countryside.. Rolling pastures of canola etc.... Wow, huge contrast from what we've been seeing in Aust for so long... Could not ... read more

The ride intoVienna today was cloudy, but clear and fresh.... Made a good mile and got to see a little of Vienna before I had to hand the bike back.... Well Vienna is everything they claim it to be and more.... Just not enough time to cover the area that I would like... This is going to be quick.... It is nearly 11pm and I want an early start in the morn.... I have about 3 hours left in the centre of Vienna tomorrow, then catch train into Westbanhauf, then train to Linz, then train to Munich Haufbanhauf, then train to Munich airport to catch a flight to Athens by Midnight tomorrow night.... New Rule # 2,356.... Don't stuff this transfer up or I miss the yacht from Athens into the Aegean.... Have said goodbyes to ... read more
