Just getting caught back up after having these darn work items crop up. Don't you just hate that? Anyway I was struck by your comments about missing what you guys are leaving, but what you can take away is your comment "you have done what you set out to do". Not many people get this opportunity, so you will always have that.
To Late Now If I had known it was that important to you I would have stayed out for another six months!!! No, not really. We are both getting a little tired and need some rest but who knows where we will go next. Besides I hear there may be a few big deer to .chase around the property.
Dakota's Ray, Michelle, I have been to all the places you typed about in this blog. Yes amazing Rushmore scenery, Deadwood "town" and some great riding in/out of Sturgis. Looking at the landscape, I also went to the caverns there. One day I will be back for another look. Happy late birthday to Michelle. Keep living the dream.
Golden Horseshoe Ray, Michelle, You are very lucky in getting a RV spot in a very good place. Seeing Yellowstone park is always a great site seeing tour. Fishing in famous river must have been exciting. I did not know you were tall enough to wash the RV..... I am sure it looks great. Bike ride to Virginia City gold mine must have been interesting seeing the original real thing. Keep living the dream.
I have a long brush The brush is about 8 ft long once it's extended. A lot of bikes in Yellowstone, going back through on their way home from Sturgis. Crazy ride over the 9000 ft peaks and up and down all the grades. Visited Sturgis and Black Hills HD today. Story coming Friday.
Thanks Glad you are enjoying it. We have had an amazing adventure and it is coming to a end soon. We are in rapid city, SD this week for a few rides and to visit Mt. Rushmore and some of the other sites.
Montana Of all the places you've visited so far on your vacation, this is the one I'm most envious of. Yellowstone has been on my bucket list since I saw it on Wonderful World of Disney when I was nine or ten. Your pictures are beautiful. Maybe some day we can venture out to Montana too. Lorraine went to the large National Parks out West many years ago with her kids. I saw her pictures and I knew then that Yellowstone wasn't just Disney hype.
My guess is that you are almost ready to get back to home and family, but not so ready to tackle East Coast traffic and crowds of people.
Don't wait Go now while you can still enjoy it. You will not regret going. Don't let anyone step on your dreams. Go to Alaska as soon as next spring...it is amazing. You must see Denali!!!! Rent an Rv and drive through the state....I will help you plan out a route.
More Fishing WOW, you are making good time to Yellowstone to do some fishing and sight seeing in the park. I don't like 5 and 405 when I am in Seattle, too much like D.C. Still seeing the great views of America. Beth and I are departing 27th for Adirondacks then across he mountains to Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, then to Nova Scotia via ferry for a week of sight seeing along the coast.
Keep living the dream, Doc
Be Safe Have a great ride, looking forward to hearing all about it when you return. Nova Scotia is a great place to visit. You need that iconic photo of the bikes at Peggy's Cove.
Departing Alaska I am sure your memories will keep you happy on your way home. Beth and I will be on vacation in Nova Scotia riding our motorcycles when you return to Southern Maryland. See more of America on your way home.
Have a good Ride That's a ride that I have always thought about taking. Are you going to take the ferry over and ride back? Should be a great time of year to see the sites. Look forward to hearing the details.
