Copper Mine WOW, your trip to the mine sounds very interesting. Roads, mine left in original condition, small but homey hotel and nice folks. Brave driving to get there, walking across bridge and climbing 14 stories. Once again you are doing what most of us dream about. Happy trails. Doc
Thanks JJ Thanks for all the funny comments. Our "Santa" was great and knew exactly what kind of story we wanted to tell. We had a great time with him, may laughs. Things are going well and we are in Whitehorse, Yukon, heading back. Should be home before Labor Day.
He's gotta be thinking aren't you too old for the fake beard test? Better watch your stocking this year...he may enlist the reindeer for something other than coal.
Artic Circle Ray, Michelle, You almost made it but.... too much good stuff to see on the way. I am not sure I would have made it as far as you because I like to see everything. Great pictures. Maybe we should change the name of our road. Michelle is definitely getting stronger, holding the pipeline until can get proper support. There really is a Santa, I saw the pictures of both of you on his lap (one at a time). Rainy days and driving a 5th wheel can make for long tiring driving. Keep living the dream.
Almost Over ;-( This is our last week, move up to TOK for 2 days tomorrow and head out for Canada on Friday. Hope to be home before the Labor Day Weekend crowd hits the road.
That makes me Happy Glad you enjoyed the pictures and the story. "Santa" was great and knew exactly where we were going with the story. It was a fun day. RJ
Visitors Ray, Michelle, Seems like you really enjoyed fishing with Wayne and Rhonda. The girls out fished the "Master"..... Glad all are having lots of fun at 4 am. Very happy you could spend time with the younger generation. I am on travel again, just spent a week in Hawaii and fly direct to Jax for more work. Keep enjoying life, making many of us wanting to follow your steps.
Spectacular Pics! Wow, really enjoyed the pics from this post! Sometimes I wonder if we're going to to see a post entitled "Final Blog" filled with instructions on how to pack up your MD household goods for shipment to your new Alaskan address. How do you rationalize leaving a place like that?
Camping Beth and I went camping at Cunningham Falls in Catoctin Park. About 25 miles north of Frederick, Md. We took our new tent, did some local riding up there looking at covered bridges, Mount St Mary's college, very beautiful, fun local roads. Really enjoyed the weekend.
Sounds like Fun Michelle and I have been up in that area before, mostly in the fall. It's amazing how you can get out of town just a little ways and seem to be so far from civilization. Glad you had a good time. I miss having the bike here but I don't think I would get too much riding in with this unpredictable weather. I will be glad to have it back though.
