Fall 2011--Genealogy Trip to Ohio

Being descended from the Mocks, we decided to attend the Mock Family History conference in Ohio this year. This group encompasses many different families, some related, most not; some spelled "Mock," some spelled "Mauch," others, "Mogg," "Mack," etc. It is always a very informative time and a nice group of people to be around.

This time, we also decided to look into mother's father's side of the family--the Tuvells, who lived in the Chillicothe area of Ohio. We were pleasantly surprised to learn of Bob Evans' weekend of arts, crafts, and music at the original farmstead and took advantage of the opportunity.



On the way there, we stopped by the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington and the town of Maysville, KY, a major port on the Ohio River in years past and childhood home of Rosemary Clooney. No, we didn't spot her nephew, George.

On the way back, we picked up Sharon's son, Christopher, at Dulles Airport and spent a few days at his sister's home in Columbia, MD. He had flown here from Singapore so that he could get an American driver's license.
