Well, I have to disagree with all of you people who don't like bali...I LOVED IT! Kuta can be very touristy (but fun) but Legian & Seminyak are just beautiful. It's a wonderful place to holiday. I've come to the conclusion that people who turn their noses up at bali, haven't actually been there!!! Lisy, Kurt, Jeremy and I headed over for a much needed holiday. The plan was to eat, drink, sleep, shop and pamper our way through 9 lovely days. Like with anything, things don't always go to plan. Poor Kurt unfortuantely got sick on day 2 and never recovered. He and Lisy ended up leaving after a few days so it was just Jezabel and I left to our own devices. We did stick to the plan of eating, drinking, sleeping, shopping and ... read more

It was time again for another holiday catch-up so Lisy & I hopped on a plane and headed over to see Kris in Perth. We spent the first few days down in the Margaret River and then the next week staying with Kris in the very lovely area of South Perth. Perth is every bit spectacular as people say, and we visited all the highlights...Cottesloe beach, Kings Park, Fremantle (...The Little Creatures brewery!!!) and Subiaco.... Lots of fun and can't wait to get back! ... read more

Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Fraser Island April 18th 2008

It had been months since I had seen either Lisy or Kris and when the discussion of "where" would we meet came up we decided the go to a neutral state for a little getaway....Lisy is from SA and Kris currnetly lives in WA.... We spent 4 glorious days on Fraser Island and were lucky to go when Jeremy still worked there. He organised rooms for us, dinners and a car to tour the island...we were very spoilt! The 4 days were cruising the island in our jeep, being pampered at the spa and doing what we love doing best...eating and drinking! Wish we had more time to explore the island but at leats it gives me an excuse to head back again! :) ... read more

No words needed....It is every bit as spectacular as they all say.... My beautiful friend Monia played host to Myles and I for our week long stay in New York. She literally lives 5 blocks from Times Square so we weren't far from anywhere or anything! We did the usual stuff - Broadway shows, 5th Avenue, Times Square, Wall St, Empire State Building and on..... a little less shopping than I would have liked but I won't hold that against you Myles... A week truely was not enough time to see, do and experience everything I wanted so....looks like I'll need to have another holiday there again sometime soon...damm! As the bus ride to New York was so terrifying - note to self to never travel by bus again in the States., it is not like ... read more

A big G'day from Australia!!! I've been home for a few weeks now and it is so wonderful to be able to spend a decent amount of time with my family and friends. I'm usually only in Sydney in for quick visits of a week or two, so to have this time has been fantastic! I've been able to all the things I miss most about home and amongst all good things Australian, there have been plenty of BBQ's and an enormous amount of lamb consumed. I'm back in Sydney for a few more weeks until I head back to the States in late November to see Myles and to spend Christmas with him and his family. I can't wait to have a white Christmas! I hope everyone is well and happy, and I look forward ... read more

By the time we arrived to Costa Rica it was almost week 9. We were exhausted, sick of being sick and starting to run out of money. Travelling in 3rd world countries is very different to travelling in Western countries. The never knowing if we were going to arrive into a town that had electricity and running water...a must after 12 hours on a hot and sweaty chicken bus. Plus constantly picking up stomach bugs no matter how careful we were with what we ate and drank - 9 weeks seemed like an eternity but we loved every moment of it at the same time! Luckily, Cost Rica is well developed and has a great tourist infrustructure. The beds were comfy and bed bug free and we weren't hounded as much as the countries....either they were ... read more

We started our adventure in the amazing city of Leon. Think beautiful old churches, building and parks. Our hostel turned out to be run by a young Australian guy who had renovated an old building into a fantastic hostel. He also run a local adventure tour business which took us gringoes out to Cerro Negro, the newest discovered volcano in Central America which frequently erupts. Not only did we climb it but we boareded down it...think riding down an volcano at a 45 degree angle on a skateboard and you get the idea of what crazy us folk were doing! Most of you would know that your's truely is pertrified of heights, so this wasn't the greatest idea I ever had. I thought I could do it, but I ended up being the person who halfway ... read more
