We had a late start because we packed up our backpacks, left them at the hotel desk, put on our flip-flops and took the telepherique up the mountain to the spectacular Igregia de Santa Luiz. High above Viana do Castelo, there are views for miles up and down the coast. And the church, built in the 1900’s has kaleidoscopic modern rose windows. Well worth the detour. Once we’d picked up our bags, we headed up - - no chance to get adjusted, just heading uphill. Our course today took us through hillside towns, not unlike yesterday and through interesting woods.
