Obviously I don't have a lot more to say, but I'm on the internet again.. so yeah, I'll tell you about what's going on I guess! Today, I got to sleep in til 9am and then I enjoyed a Dunkin' Donut for the first time- in New Zealand. Then I headed to the Art Gallery where I discovered that their Main Gallery is closed til 2010. Yep, 2010, the year I'm supposta graduate... So I headed over to the Contemp. Art Gallery, which to me is cooler anyhow, and there was only one gallery open because the other one was being rehung... So the one gallery that was open was really cool- it was actually about the environment, so it was still good. I headed up to a park then headed to the Auckland Museum. Harrassed ... read more

Weeeellll Another long entry I believe!! So I don't really remember the last time I wrote- in Cairnes I think- Do ya'll know I went snorkeling over the reef? Cause if not- it was pretty freaking amazing..! So yeah, after our day on the reef, we headed to the Daintree Rainforest which is just north of Cairnes. It was pretty cool- actually being in a rainforest! It was like the henry doorly zoo... only real... So there are these big birds there called cassowaries.. And I really wanted to see one in the wild. Long story short, I never did. But believe me, that is not the last you will hear of them. So we were in the rainforest and down the street was pretty much the best beach ever. I spent a majority of the ... read more

Alright. Apologies first. No Pictures. Sorry, still my camera cord is at home. :( Also. Internet still v. expensive, so I will go through the last week and a half pretty quickly but yeah, ask me more when I get home, I'd love to tell you the stories. First off we flew from Sydney to Uluru (AKA Ayers Rock) and met up with the TWO Australian MEN who were going to be our guides for a WEEK. Let's just say, hawt. So the first day we went on a hike around the olgas which are nearby Uluru and are another rock formation. Then we headed to Uluru for the amazing sunset which we pretty much missed because it was overcast. Shucky darns. Luckily, these guys pulled out two things of wine, multiple bottles of champange, and ... read more

I'm alive. At a computer where i can't put pictures on and paying a crazy amount for it ($4/hr) So yeah. Another apology to begin with! I see that I forgot to publish my first post!! Sorry all! Just a quick update, as I only have about 20 minutes, and I'm realllly tired and have to get up at 4:45 am tomorrow morning! Ahh! I'm not exactly where I left off, so I'll just inform you that I spent the last two nights in the Blue Mountains, which are just a couple hours west of Sydney. We stayed at this AMAZING ecolodge, which was amazing for so many reasons. A. It was located in the middle of the Blue Mountains!! B. It was eco-friendly! C. It was full of non-bunk beds D. It had a TV E. It served amazing meals for us F. and most of all... it had Coffee whenever you wanted/needed it!! And the ... read more

No I haven't been sailing at all, but man, did I get my fair share of salt water today. Yes, that's right, the girl from South Dakota went swimmin' in her first ocean! It was amazing, the waves were crazy big today, and it was lots of fun 'riding' them - something I of course hadn't ever done before. It was a great afternoon. Now to back track a little. I'm not really sure where I left off actually, haha. Yesterday morning we went to the Australian museum which was pretty cool- had a very good exhibit on Aboriginal history and such and then a huge natural history part containing lots of bones and examples of various species. The most common species there unfortunately was Humanus Youngus aka. the small child. So I made my way ... read more

Hello All from Sydney Australia! Hope the weather is still nice there because it is absolutely GORGEOUS here! They were warning us of the winter conditions on the plane... a temp of 66F! I thought I had to start out with a bit of bad news, that I couldn't put and of my pictures online because I brought the total wrong camera cord with me, but it seems like there is a slot on this computer that I can use, however I left my camera upstairs, and going up to get it would waste precious minutes of my $3 internet. So Pictures tomorrow! :D So first of all, I made it here safely, no travel troubles at all, and we all got our bags and everything. The flight from LA to Sydney was 14 hours long, ... read more

Just a few words before I leave, mostly just to play with this and figure out how things work... So yeah, my last couple of days at home have been very relaxing, I still don't think that I have quite realized that I'm leaving the country in 2 days! I'm very not ready, I havent started thinking about packing, and of course I'm most 'freaked out' about not having anything planned for New Zealand. It looks as though my travel guide book I ordered will not being arriving.. perhaps ever.. The first book not to arrive from half.com and of course it was one I really needed. I could live without silent spring.. but it looks like I will be stopping at Barnes and Noble tomorrow and spending a lot more on a book than ... read more
