We are slowly getting our house ready to sale. Pray that we get what we are going to be asking (probably the 130-145 range). I put in a new floor for the kitchen and dressed up the cupboards. I will be putting on a new countertop this week. We tried to put in new doors, but we would have to tear the porches off for that. A few more things and we will be ready to go. We are in the process of buying the lot from Jim so we can include it in our downpayment for the new house loan.
Love and Miss you both,
the Mooney Six

The Hair Transformation It's me, the Scissor-hand! How much fun to meet Deborah and Patrick at P.Zaz and give Deborah her "new look" on the AT. An amateur hiker myself, I was excited to hear about their adventure and their "why?" I was delighted to hear about how their interest in the AT originated and all that lead up to their expedition. It certainly was a pleasure to meet them both and listen to their stories. I will be checking back and send good wishes to the journey's end.

What a Trip! Jane and I have been following every entry in every blog. What a pair of stalwarts you two are! You seem to be in the swing of things now, with a nice rhythm in your daily activities. We are thankful that you have solved your foot and boot problems. Jane and I took a motor trip in our RV down Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway in 1995, so many of the places you have visited are familiar to us. We always magnify your photo shots to take in as much of the scenery as possible. Pat, your writing style, choice of words, phrasing, etc. is magnificent. Keep up the good work, and God go with you. 73 to OD and CC, Bill and Jane

Baby Yates I am having a GIRL!!!!!
I thought you guys would like to hear a little excitment coming from Rochester NY. I hope this gives you a little boost of energy to get to your goals. Great rewards at the end. Mom are you doing ok? That last picture shows you were ready to poop out. I am looking back at some of these pics and can't believe what you guys are going through. I thought maybe groomed trails didn't really have that kind of trail in mind. WOW, you guys are doing a great job and keep it up. God will give you the strength you need to finish your journey.
Love you both, The Yates Family. You are greatly loved and missed.
just saying hey! Hey mom and dad! Love and miss you guys. Just letting you know we miss you and pray for you daily. Everything is cool at the house. I took some boxes over and burned "the pile", your registration came in for the Focus (not that you need it!), and the lawn got mowed. Well, love you and be safe!

Hightop Hut Patrick and Deborah,
We are glad to have met you at Hightop Hut. My nephew and I really enjoyed talking with you. We hope you have great weather, the wind is at your back, and you enjoy the Old Dominion !
If you guys need anything while you are walking through Virginia, put a message on here to me. My folks live in southwest Virginia (Wytheville).
We could shuttle you, bring supplies, relay info, whatever. I'll keep up with your blog. Keep your spirits up and take it slow and steady.
God bless,
Steve
With you in spirit Pat/Debra,
We check your blogs regularly and are with you in spirit. We will soon be on our bit of paradise at the island and as Sal cannot manage the walking because of the arthritis, we'll try and stay with you and imagine the experiences as you pass them on to us so clearly.
Via con dios,
Ewart n Sal
My name is Matthew Mooney. I am the proud son of two Appalachian Trail walkers. Pat and Debbie Mooney embarked on this great journey in April 2007. An ankle injury pulled them off early, but they are still plugging away when they have time. It is my duty to keep them in touch with family, friends, and all curious sorts while adding to this journal the many resulting tales. Take your time sorting through the journals of this adventuring couple willing to forge a trail many only dream of. Please submit your thoughts and encouragement; they will be passed on.
