incredible you two are no strangers to trouble, but you handle most with grace and poise. these are my favorite excerpts from your account.
"Yes, at this point I was looking to join a well-armed anarchist group." and "The people who the truck guy recommended to us turned out to be a very sketchy group of characters on a frightening side street who lowered the container using two raggedy forklifts (one on each side of the truck) trying to coordinate their movements." hilarious. go Thomas go.
wow Thanks for reminding me of God's faithfulness. Their are times, even after he has helped us a million times, that we loose sight. WE forget how much He loves us. I have been there for a few days. I am truly lifted by God speaking through you! I am so proud of your wife speaking out to the policeman in God's name. You the speaker and diplomat, her the spirit filled fireball. Praise God for you both! Love you dearly, Tio Moco y Tia Moco
Amen! Yes, we are the church, "the body of Christ" as St Paul describes it. (Am I good advertisement?) "Go ye into all the world . . ."

ps: I also just left a comment for you "back in Nicaragua."
The right words for corrupt cops Hi. I just found your site, and have an old van like yours parked in the barn, which we enjoyed many years ago. We're in Mexico at present, and here the expats say the best way to end a standoff with crooked cops is to say "Senor. Da me mi multa, por favor." (Sir, write my ticket please.) This is supposed to end discussion and formalize the charge.
You can find my travelblog here by clicking on bloggers, and searching for HatCat. I'll check out the rest of your entries.

Never Liked That Work Either "Moist"...never liked that word either. Hope you guys are well, Thomas. I'm enjoying reading about your odyssey. Blessings...Michael (and Jana, Ruthie, and Gigi)
Sermon? Yes, I think there is a meditation in there somewhere. Maybe along the lines of Rich's "Because you never know whats in that water" comment about people who want to be baptized by bottled up water from the Jordan.
True... Yes, that is true but I did ask a number of Mexicans (including my wife) and none of them recognized "rape" as a word even in conjunction with the photo.
creepy Now there's got to be a communion meditation in there. Crazy and creepy...love the picture of Sandra!...but definitely some usable material in this one!
Is there a difference? When I take bread for communion in the church, or take bread for a lunch. Is not Christ being our sustanance in all things? Although Judas mis-used it, did he not keep a money box? Was it not to help the poor and widows? If the church uses it for theses purposes, good! Love your thinking Thomas, and Love you both,as our own. May God bless you in ways you have never seen! Love,Tio Moco
I feel your pain I now realize how relatively organized and structured life back in the States is. I feel your pain. :) Blessings to you guys...Michael
