An interesting site on top of a large mountain in the middle of Turkey. The mind boggles about the reasoning behind building up here. There were large heads and bodies on the Eastern and Western sides of the mountain and evidence of a perimeter wall that would have been stuck together like lego. A great location and fascinating site, for more about my trip through Turkey click below http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Turkey/blog-725314.html... read more

An Amazing site. One of 40+ different underground cities in the area of Cappadocia in Middle Turkey. This city has 8 different levels and could house 20,000-30,000 people, depending on how cramped they would be prepared to live. An amazing construction job with evidence of rock usage - circular tools, holes in the rock both small and large and the doors. The Circular doors can only be closed from the inside suggesting that maybe the inhabitants were hiding from something. There was a great ventilation system that used air pressure to create a movement of air from the surface to the bottom and up again through the network of tunnels. A curious thing I noticed was a small step next to one of the storage containers, possibly for children or tiny beings of some sort?? One ... read more

A neolithic site with lots of tombs and what could be living quarters. This is not a Megalithic site but seemed pretty old none the less. The site is in the Southeast of Spain located near the town of Galera. I visited the site as part of my cycle trip around Portugal, we hired a car for 3 days to drive across Spain to reach Mallorca. There were 9 dolmen in the area North of Valverde del Camino (North of Huelva) but there was more megalithic structures to be seen along the N-435 but I didn't have much time. I saw 4 of the dolmen at El Pozuelo, some of them looked like dolmen on top of mounds and were made from quite a few rocks. There were also flint like stones jutting out of the side of the mounds, almost defining the perimeter. A fascinating site and worth exploring further. I found this site when cycling close to Celerico da Beira, it is located a few miles Northwest of town. There were some old Roman ruins nearby but the most interesting thing for me was the shapes carved in to the rocks and the evidence of rock cutting. With the shape of mushroom rock, the holes carved into the rocks and the big megalithic slabs I got the impression whoever built this knew how to manipulate rock. "Like Stone Henge only older" - tourist board advertisment A huge stone circle up on a hill, that is offically older than Stone Henge, hence the slogan for the tourists. A beautiful site, we camped next to the circle and felt a real presence, possibly due to ley/energy lines. There were crystals growing on some of the stones, I found markings on one and there was evidence of rock manipulation with a stone with the top cut off. There are supposed to be nudreds of megalithic structures in the area, on the way back from the Cromleque we visited a menhir which is more than 2 metres tall. We spent a day travelling around the area close to Cairo. First we saw the Giza plateau with its majestic pyramids and the mysterious sphinx. At the back of sphinx there are signs of water erosion, from prolonged exposure to rain, since there has not been rain in this area for 9000 years the dating of the sphinx needs to be re-examined. We also went to the Saqqra complex to see the oldest of the pyramids according to main stream egyptologists and visit some of the underground chambers and tunnel system. The Dahshur complex is a little further south and includes the Dahshur pyramid, which is bent, allegedly because they changed their minds during construction and the Red Pyramid, which we went inside. Inside the pyramid there is an atmosphere, similar to when you enter a ... read more

A huge complex with lots of Egyptian treats - obelisks, hieroglyphs and statues. Some serious building work went into this one too. There are 100's of authors who give an alternative opinion about what the Egyptians were up to, I recommend people like John Anthony West, Robert Schoch, Christopher Knight and Carmen Boulter as a good place to start. "The Pyramid Code" - a 5 part series made by Carmen Boulter "The Revelation Pyramid" - a great documentary Click below for more details of my trip around Egypt http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Egypt/blog-511045.html... read more
