Ah, it's brought a tear to my eye! What else will I read at work in my lunchbreaks! Thanks for making me jealous and sending me amazing pictures, it's been great. Give me a call when you've settled down in London, i'm living south of the river too! Lots of love Jessie xx
Why should this be the end??? Hi Simon. Thanks also from your buddy from Aotearoa. Man, I flipped through some of your earlier blogs and only then one realises how much you have seen and experienced. I bet you will have a great time reading all this again yourself!! Great having met you and I reckon your email contact lis is probably as big as the grin you waer when someone asks you: So, what have you been up to lately? .... Little do they know...
But hey, just as many have said before me, we enjoyed reading your many updates and now I wonder: why should it stop here? I would like to hear how you like the beginning of your professional life, the antics at work and your personal feelings about clashing with, no doubt, narrow-minded people, who have not had the privilege to do what you have been able to do.
Love and Peace, Dude!
Heiko
Simon, glad to know that you're back home safe and sound. i have to say that i will definitely miss the little bits of Simon that pop up in my inbox every week or two and I will also miss living vicariously through you as you do all sorts of things i will probably never get to! i've seen and learned a lot and i think you should become a travel writer...in case your next job doesn't work out. hope to talk to you soon!
Thanks for keeping me entertained for the past six months. Although you have made me think what working is all for.... the next set of travels!! Good luck with your new job, and welcome to the world of corporate life!! xx
my aching jealousy is nearly at an end i can't believe it's nearly over!!! really enjoyed reading your blogs! what an amazing trip!!!!! ahhhh you'll soon know the mundane feeling of home! see you in s.a. or antartica or somewhere else soon....
Fred is very cool - not very well camouflaged though! What a bummer getting your money stolen >:-( amazing views to make up for it though. Keep writing - it's really interesting to learn about all these places I'd like to go to but probably never will!
look after yourself.

Rafting Hi Simon, we are on holiday in Bali at the moment, went White water rafting yesterday - awesome! We cycle down a volcano tomorrow, then some scuba diving. We are here for a couple of weeks then head up to Bangkok for some shopping then down into mid Thaiiland for 3 weeks. Love your blogs. I think Charlotte is coming down to seeyour mum at about the time you get back. Stay safe , have fun - Dave
la vida loca? Hey! you are still on the move goodness i thought that you were back in England already. clearly i haven't been in touch with my computer. Your life is still interesting...mine is hectic i got a 20-25 paper due this Thurs. oops i just realized it 2 days ago. bummer. i think that i just want to fly out and meet you near giraffes! then we would go and meet the blue monkey hehe and offer some cookies and tea. Oh if fun wishing could only come true... I'll check back on your wonderings once i get myself out of this paper writing mess. big hug! adieu
Bats and warthogs Despite my geographical leanings, I'm drawn to the wildlife - I love the cute little bats and hairy creepy crawlies, but that warthog is soooooo sad.
After breifly speaking on msn a month or so back i have read your blog from start to present, and just like everyone else am 100% jelous, wanting to be there on the trip ! :-)
Amazed by what you have seen/done/acheived thus far, brilliant photograpy as well !, dont worry about long entrys and lots of photos, all the more interesting.
Btw, sounds like you have your first offical stalker, best watch out when you step off the next plane/train/automobile, never know who will be waiting ;-)
hee hee! Stopped reading when the prostitute went away due to internet cafe charges, as I m back in merry old Italy watching the england matches with ex pats in Irish pubs...but heehee! Simon got hounded by a whore. Oh bless you Mr. too mice english guy. Sounds like you re still just about enjoying stuff though, so take care. I ll look forward to a whole new set of blogs once I m back in blighty. Take care Simon!
Don't worry - you're not the only one. I managed to wander onto what I think was an army base when I was in Austria. Some rather upset guards managed to explain to me (in the days when I spoke no German and these guys spoke next to no English) that there had been a sign about a mile further back. On the way back I checked. Yep, sign there. On a gate. Which was wide open so the sign was actually in the hedge.
Love your blog - so interesting!
Still In NZ Wow, great to see hptots of India. much memories flooded back. also the pics from Africa are stunning. Just like it looks in books. may raid some of your travelling adventures for ideas of where to go on the way home. take care man. marc
Is it really THAT bad? Come on - that photo of 'not so modern' Nairobi looks no worse than the road down by the Cockpit/Train Station in Leeds! Then again I suppose Leeds is hardly a paragon of Western Civilisation! Looks like you're still having an amazing time, especially on safari - awesome photos! Oh and I wanna ask you sumthin else but check ur emails for that I'll save boring anyone else who reads this. Have fun! Rorz.
Brrrrrrr What a great contrast to your past fotos. Love the sights and the open spaces. May the next 7 weeks be packed with wildlife, amazing geography and only few potholes!
Keep safe, brother!
PS: by the way, we have +1.5 degree and the woodburner roaring. Brrrrr
I've just finished University, at Leeds studying Geography, and have a year free. Since I didn't take a 'gap' year, but have had a taste of travelling for a while, it would seem only inevitable that 9-months away, continuing the geography experience, is in order.
Thought I'd keep a blog instead of pestering peeps every few days with mass emails about giant scorpions and losing my luggage in a semi-humorous way. Feel free to email me tho, and I will reply :)
Oh and the photo is my audition for DKNY's next sunglasses campaign...... full info
