Enjoyed our tour of Tasmania with you
I trust your return journey to Melbourne was as pleasant as your trip over - no sea sickness. I am pleased you enjoyed your time in Tasmania - 'boy where did the 6 weeks go'. Once again you entertained us with your 'blog' and your beautiful photos. Safe travelling now back in Australia. Look forward to seeing you when your back home. We go to Gympie next Thursday 10 for a Northern State Gideon Convention for the weekend and then Tuesday 22 for our two week Gideon Safari out west - like we did two years ago. I pray you have kept well and 'Bushbaby' was too. Love as usual - Carol (and John) ox's ox's

Tassie Crossing
Once again we were blessed with a great crossing. We were welcomed by the captain at 5:45am and he gave us disembarkation instructions for Adelaide. Repeated Adelaide several times in his spiel. At the end was just a hint as he reminded us that it was 1 April. Back in Bris around Easter.

Last of Tasmania
Another very interesting blog " didn't you do well." We certainly enjoyed your efforts over the past weeks. On the home lap now and probably reluctant to give up the gypsy life just yet.

Tassie holiday
Hi Guys, Was looking for a road trip blog to Tassie from Brisbane and found yours. It has been great to read and have marked down areas I didn't have ear marked. Was looking at the photo of you 2 and realised I knew those faces---I am Hugh Bell's daughter and had seen thru your campervan before your trip. Dave and I are going next month and stopping at friends in Wollongong and Adelaide and seeing our son who had transferred to Melbourne then to Tassie!! We are driving, staying in B and Bs etc so lots to plan. Can't wait---- so thanks for all your lovely blogs. Myra

Touring Tassie
Great that you found the blog. Just a couple more adventures to write up before we cross back to the mainland on Monday. Thanks for leaving a note. Keep your plans flexible. Distances are small, but in the centre and west, speeds are low as you will have seen due to the undulating country side.

You do it well
Interesting blog again pity about the weather in places but you have had a pretty good run weather wise. Getting near the end of your Tasmanian adventure.

Rocky Cape

Beautiful coast
Stanley is certainly a beautiful area. Did you perchance attempt to buy fish at the co-op? When we were there we were unable to buy any fish at all even though it is a fishing town!!!

Fish Co-op
We had a look but it seemed closed. We had stopped at the little blue stone restaurant across the road to see if they published a menu. Drew a blank there too.

HELLS GATES
Great you went through Hells Gates...the unpredictable entrance to the massive Macquarie Harbour...everyone who does so seems to have a different experience.

Hobart
I thought Hobart, when we went a few years ago , was like our cities 50 years ago ,and I certainly remember Mt.Wellingtons cold, there was a young honeymooning couple ( they were staying at the same place as Kaye and I were) who came in shorts and skimpy tops ,and almost froze poor kids---they didn't stay long!!-------------Jakii

Another interesting effort
You are certainly finding some great places to visit. The cruise was in good weather mostly and looked as if it was worth the money. Hope the weather fines up for you. All well at 68. Looks like we are in for showers again today and cooler temps. Have fun and love from 136

Eagle on wall at The Wall

THE WALL
Great to see you went to The Wall and advertise its wonder. Having been involved in exhibition woodcarving for a number of years and seeing the extraordinary skill of numerous woodcarving artisans, I can vouch that The Wall is World Class...breathtaking...little wonder it has the air of a sacred place when viewing. The enormity of the exhibition and the skill of the carver is a must to behold when visiting Tasmania. And its a self funded project...staggering. Those carved coats and hats on the hat stands...probably the most beautiful things I've seen in my life!

Eagle on wall at The Wall

The Wall
The Wall is a great place no doubt. I have wondered if Travel Blog could provide some sort of accreditation to moderators so that we could approach such artisans with the purpose of writing single item photo blogs to promote interest in seeing the work. Has this ever been discussed? Too late for me and the wall, but could be a very useful thing for TB as well as free promotion for the focus. There are heaps of opportunity. I am parked under The Nut. Here there is a Seal Tour that is a winner. It would be good to do an article just on that. Rob

Another great effort
Some great views from Mt Wellington on a clear sunny day it would be much better. Sure looked cool!! Interesting reading too.

Is it getting cold down in South Tassie? That pizza oven looks a treat, wouldn't mind one of those.

Tassie Temps
Had a great day yesterday, 12.5c at 7.00 in Hobart rising(?) to a top of 8.5c as we drove into the western wilderness. Oh, it was blowing a gale as well! Rob
