After Quartzsite we were Homeward Bound. Our first stop was Tucson where we stayed from the 21st to the 27th. We needed the RV serviced one more time to catch the things they were unable to get to before. While it was in service we went to visit Jim and Connie who were hosting a mini Alaskan Reunion. Several of the people on the Alaska trip winter in Arizona. Six couples of the 21 were able to attend. It was great to see everyone again and catch up on what we were all up to. Of course, we were the only couple who haven't been home yet. Saturday and Sunday we were able to get together with all our Tucson friends. Monday we stayed in Las Cruces. Tuesday we got to Fort Stockton. Wednesday we pulled ... read more

On January 14 we headed to our first RV Rally the infamous Quartzsite RV rally in the middle of nowhere Arizona. We were excited. We met up with Stan and Georgann at the Quail Run RV Park where we would get the rigs ready for the 5 day stay in the desert without electricity, water or dump hookups "Boon Docking". We were joining their Safari RV group and were known as the SOB's Some Other Brand. The Safari brand has beautiful murals on the back of their coaches. During the day we would venture over to the acres of venders set up with everything from crafts, to tools, kitchen gadgets, clothes and especially food. On the 16th we went to the BLM Bureau of Land Management location that the wagon master had selected and where all ... read more

We headed up the road a few hours to Temecula and stayed at the Pechanga RV Resort. What a great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. We loved the quaint little old town area and the fabulous farmers market. One night we went to the casino for dinner, and were surprised to find out it is as big as the MGM in Las Vegas. The last weekend of our stay Will and Renee' came and we went to a couple of wineries and enjoyed more of the sunshine.... read more

"Dreams Come True" was the theme of the 125th Rose Parade 2014, and that is exactly what happened to me. A childhood dream of mine was to attend the Rose Bowl Parade. A real "Life Lister". My Mom and I would eat our breakfast in front of the tv every new year morning amazed at the floats, even on our old black and white tv just imagining what they looked like in real life. So when Pat and I saw that Fantasy, the same tour company we went to Alaska with, had a five day Rose Parade Tour we booked it last Spring. The 28th of January we drove the 40 miles between Orange and Arcadia to the Santa Anita Horse Race Park. We pulled into the parking lot at Gate 6 to join 130 other ... read more

Christmas officially started when we picked up Jason and Nicole at the airport on Christmas Eve. We headed straight over to Will and Renee's where Zeke was disguised as the Christmas tree. I decided to unload all my old shopping bags, yarn scraps and post it notes for gift tags. Gifts this year was a combination of all the souvenirs we got in Alaska and the anticipation of the next two days at Disney Land and California Disney parks. We had been hoarding 8 pounds of King Crab Legs we had purchased in Valdez, AK and steamed them up for dinner with lemon butter sauce. Christmas morning we started at Disney Land around 10am the park was decorated for Christmas everywhere you looked. The estimated attendance at the park that day was between 80 - 100,000 ... read more

We left Tucson December 3rd and headed up the road to the Eagle View (Asah gwen oou-o) RV Resort in Fort McDowell, AZ located in the Yavapai Nation. As part of the welcome package we were given two $15.00 player club credits at the casino. After dinner we decided to play some slots with the money. I played off all my money with a little win here and there to keep me going. Pat, on the other hand didn't hit a thing until the last spin when he hit a 1,200 quarter jackpot . Winner winner chicken dinner. Our RV spot backed up to a wash with signs posted along the fence "Enter at your own risk". One night while we were walking Leisel we heard an ol' Hoot Owl. We spotted him sitting in the ... read more

We left Anaheim on Halloween and after traveling on Interstate 8 through Palm Springs, the Sand Dunes and Salton Sea we picked up I-10, east of Phoenix and passed our first familiar land marks, Saguaro National Park and Picacho Peak. November 1st we headed to our old stomping grounds from the late '80s in the foothills and attended the All Saints Day service and healing mass at St. Thomas the Apostle, our previous parish. Friday night we visited our dear friends of 25 years and Pat and Charlie picked up their guitars and played like we haven't been gone. Charlie was instrumental in Pat playing and singing church music. Sunday night Charlie and Martha's daughters planned an excursion to downtown Tucson to attend the Dia de los Muertos parade. Jim and Connie drove their RV and ... read more

We got into Anaheim Monday, October 14 and checked into the Anaheim Resort RV Park a short 5 minute drive from Disney Land. We could see the Matterhorn mountain ride and the fireworks at night from our site. After setting up camp we met Will and Renee' at a BBQ place in LA and watched football and baseball games. Then we went over to their place to see Will on the Young and the Restless. Great job Will. Tuesday was a day of rest and relaxation. On Wednesday the 16th we helped Renee' and Will celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary at Yamashiro an old renovated mansion in the hills with Japanese gardens and amazing views of the city. Thursday Disney Land!!!! As someone put it, "we were like kids in a candy shop". We purchased a ... read more

David and Patsy arrived late Saturday September 28. We met them for breakfast Sunday, due to the rain we came back to the RV park to watch Texan Football. That evening we went to dinner and a movie. Monday after another fabulous breakfast at The Victorian we headed to Mt. Bachelor for some sightseeing. We didn't get far before we came upon the road closed sign. We realized what all that rain on Sunday had meant to the Mountain, it was snowed in and hadn't been plowed yet. We learned later in Sisters that that was the earliest snow of that size in years. We headed back down the road and made some stops at a few of the parks and enjoyed the rapids along the Deschutes River. There is rafting on the river only with ... read more

Nicole arrived in Seattle Saturday September 14 after running a 5K Color Run in Austin that morning. We went straight downtown for a delicious dinner including her and Pat's favorite, oysters. We had a 3 hour drive back to Port Angeles using one of the floating bridges on the way home. The next day we set out on Hwy 101 to explore Olympic National Park. Our first stop was the Madison Falls entry and stamped our National Park Passport there. After lunch at Granny's cafe, we stopped at Crescent Lake, and on to Forks. We were surprised to find out Forks had the Twilight Festival that weekend. All the festivities were over by Sunday afternoon, but it was fun to see the banners and signs. The shop windows were advertising Twilight Tours. We though we'd check ... read more
