MY FAMILYS HERE!! I'm just writing a quick note, on our trip so far. We're actually in Athlow right now but i couldnt find it on the list so Burren it is. We went through there today, a vast rocky area by the ocean, very cool. Also went to a bear cave (bears have been extinct for over 1000 years in ireland). We've had a lovely trip!! But tomorrow I go home and tuesday they go back to winnipeg. Saw a lot of ireland in this trip, they spent the weekend in dublin, then we rented a MASSIVE van for our trip on the TINY roads. Very scary at first (and still is.. from time to time) but dad hasnt killed us yet, knock on wood. Anyway, we've accomplished all sorts of landmarks.. kissed the blarney ... read more

well hello! Patri and I just got home, we left early yesterday morning with pablo, claudia and jorge for Donegal. I now know that brazilians speak portugese, not spanish or... brazilian. This is good! And it was neat, hearing the two languages (spanish and portugese), because theyre so alike but at the same time, not. Donegal is in the northern area of the republic of ireland, and we managed to go through north ireland (the UK) for about an hour. we had a pub lunch in elliskenny. Or.. some town of a name like that, haha! So many of the names here are of very very bizarre spelling, and even harder to pronounce. its madness. I´ve been meaning to write since last sunday, when me & whitney from work went on a day tour to the ... read more

I AM VERY NEARLY OUT OF THE 2 MONTH MARK! This is good. according to patri, month 2 is the hardest. Just past the excitment and newness of month one, things settle in, you reconsider all your decisions, over and over.. i agree with her! But its all grand, of course. The fringe festival has had its way this week, and I am an Official volunteer. Not that i´ve done much: tonight will be my 2nd time volunteering. On thursday, I picked up a photographer from the airport, who was with a woman who may or may not have been his girlfriend. Regardless, Mim and Matthew were very sweet people, and didn´t know someone was meeting them at the airport, so very excited to see me! It was cool. He was a photographer for the parkour ... read more

Today I´m back to work! Starting at one, so I thought id use my extra time to update. I had some lovely time off this past week: i went to Howth, a county of dublin on tuesday. Gorgeous town, and I had the luck of finding a ferry to take me to a nearby island! Fantastic climb, and view. But on the way back down I found myself ankle deep in a swamp (it was covered in plants), in my shock i start running... only to become knee-deep! haha, it was hilarious!! so i went to the only clothing store there, bought some strange pants for too much money, went for a late publunch after fruitlessly looking to buy shoes. Still, all in all a nice day! Then I took the DART back home, and threw ... read more

Long time no write! Ive worked the past five days though, which is why. Its busy for me between shopping and sleeping and trying to have a life and work. Now, i know youre rolling your eyes at the "shopping" aspect of this stress, but i only came here with a suitcase!! And we don´t have a dryer!! So if i wash my ONE PAIR of jeans then I can´t wash my sweats!! And its strange.. 8 hour shifts 5 days a week: who does that?¿ Though I´m adjusting, even to this spanish laptop i use. Oh man, last night after work we went to nachos spanish fiesta. Nacho is a spanish chef, and he cooked at least 20 dishes with patri (my roommate) and rosa (her friend) and then we all went over and ate. ... read more

haha i.e. nonexistent. would you like some sun with that rain? Here things are good, been going out to temple bar most nights with the flatmates or with mark from nova scotia. He went to galway tuesday though, so its back to the flat for me. But we´re busy here with patricias friends from spain visiting. 6 of us in the 2 bedroom now! haha its fun, we get along!! Today matt and i went grocery shopping, and i now have things in my cupboard and on my shelf in the fridge! aaaah! so exciting! It was 50euro of groceries.. not a bad haul. I also bough ingredients to fiddle diddles to impress my roomies with my domestic ways. wow, what a lie haha. Did i mention that matt was a chef in china before he ... read more

hello hello. Today was a fairly nice day, I went to the park with my mate daniel(denmark), and then we went to the national gallery for a bit. Then i showered, made some pasta, chatted with some people. Oh! and earlier today i got to talking with a woman from louisiana at the hostel who teaches french. She is having severe back problems and is leaving tomorrow, and then after chatting for a while, i saw her later, and she offered me her straightener and blow dryer...! for free! I think its because she doesnt have much room left in her suitcase. Shes also selling a 7 trip train pass thats good for 2 more months for 50 euro!! she paid 600 usdollars when there were 15 trips on it... so im looking at a 300 ... read more

HOLler NOT MUCH TIME TO WRITE but hello, arriva derci. I read a quote today that made me lauuugh: No matter how great your triumphs or how tragic your defeats, remember taht approximately one billion chinese people couldnt care less. -abraham lazlo Thats very important. I had today off and yesterday. Got my hair cut for waaay too much $$, bought some stuff, went to st stephens park, and pub crawling tonight because i didnt last night. Well, last night i had an independent pub crawl. It involved me and some bulmers, in a pub, but then it ended because i didnt really like the bulmers, and it made me feel ungood, so i had some wonton soup which definitely doesnt qualify as a pub crawl substance. Thought you should know. I move in in exactly ... read more

MMM its been a good stay here in la-la-london. Friday night was the evening of the harry pottah release, so NATURALLY i queued up around 9, eventually with 3499 other fans. It was crazy! In the queue i happened upon 2 girls from the hostel i was at, lori and cat. our section of the line were actually mostly travellers, and we got to know eachother pretty well over the course of 5 hours. Saturday was nice, i switched hostels to the YMCA, where there was a BATHTUB, and i had a private rrroom! for only fifteen quid! not bad at all, amigos. That night I went to a pub overlooking the thames. THere i met 4 albanians who live in england, who i spent the rest of the night with. Then sunday, i went to ... read more
